Usage of Altachlore ophthalmic

Altachlore (for the eyes) is used to reduce swelling of the cornea (the front surface of your eye) caused by surgery, infection, trauma, or other eye conditions.

Sodium chloride, hypertonic, ophthalmic may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Altachlore ophthalmic side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Altachlore may cause serious side effects. Stop using Altachlore and call your doctor at once if you have:

  • eye pain;
  • severe or ongoing eye redness or irritation;
  • vision changes; or
  • worsening of your eye condition.
  • Common side effects of Altachlore may include:

  • mild burning or irritation in your eyes.
