Usage of Azelastine ophthalmic

Azelastine ophthalmic (for the eyes) is an antihistamine that is used to treat itchy eyes caused by allergies (hay fever).

Azelastine ophthalmic may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Azelastine ophthalmic side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

azelastine ophthalmic may cause serious side effects. Stop using azelastine ophthalmic and call your doctor at once if you have:

severe burning, stinging, itching, or eye redness after using this medication;

eye pain;

trouble breathing; or

fever, chills, sore throat, flu symptoms.

Common side effects of azelastine ophthalmic may include:

blurred vision (temporary);

headache; or

a bitter taste in your mouth.

Before taking Azelastine ophthalmic

You should not use azelastine ophthalmic if you are allergic to azelastine.

Azelastine ophthalmic should not be given to a child younger than 3 years old.

Usual Adult Dose for Allergic Conjunctivitis:

Instill 1 drop in the affected eye(s) twice a day.Use: For the treatment of itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis.

Usual Pediatric Dose for Allergic Conjunctivitis:

Age: 3 years and olderInstill 1 drop in the affected eye(s) twice a day.Use: For the treatment of itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis.

What other drugs will affect Azelastine ophthalmic
