Usage of Crotamiton topical

Crotamiton is an anti-parasite medicine that kills certain parasites that live or lay eggs in your skin.

Crotamiton topical (for the skin) is used to treat scabies and to reduce itching associated with certain skin conditions.

Crotamiton topical may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Crotamiton topical side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

    Before taking Crotamiton topical

    It is not known whether crotamiton topical passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

    Crotamiton topical is not approved for use by anyone younger than 18 years old.

    How to use Crotamiton topical

    Usual Adult Dose for Scabies:

    Thoroughly massage drug product into the skin of the whole body from the chin to the toes; repeat 24 hours later.Comments: -Advise patients to take a cleansing bath 48 hours after the last application.-A 60 g tube or bottle is sufficient for 2 applications.Use: For eradication of scabies (Sarcoptes scabiei)

    Usual Adult Dose for Pruritus:

    Massage drug product gently into affected areas until medication is completely absorbed; repeat as needed.Use: For symptomatic treatment of pruritic skin

    What other drugs will affect Crotamiton topical

    It is not likely that other drugs you take orally or inject will have an effect on topically applied crotamiton. But many drugs can interact with each other.
