Usage of Medikoff oral mucous membrane

Medikoff (for use inside the mouth) is used to provide temporary relief from cough associated with a cold, minor irritation or sore throat in adults and children at least 5 years old.

Medikoff may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Medikoff oral mucous membrane side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Less serious side effects are more likely, and you may have none at all.

Before taking Medikoff oral mucous membrane

You should not use Medikoff if you are allergic to menthol.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist if this medicine is safe to use if you have ever had:

  • cough with mucus;
  • cough caused by smoking, asthma, or emphysema; or
  • sore throat with breathing problems for more than 2 days.
  • Ask a doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

    Do not give this medicine to a child without medical advice.

    How to use Medikoff oral mucous membrane

    Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.

    Allow the Medikoff to dissolve in your mouth without chewing.

    Medikoff may be used once every 2 hours as needed.

    Your dose needs may change if you switch to a different brand, strength, or form of this medicine. Avoid medication errors by using exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.

    Call your doctor if your sore throat is severe or continues for longer than 2 days, especially if you also have a fever, headache, skin rash, swelling, or nausea and vomiting. Stop using and call your doctor if you have a cough that does not improve after 7 days of treatment.

    Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

    What other drugs will affect Medikoff oral mucous membrane

    Other drugs may affect Medikoff, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell your doctor about all other medicines you use.
