Usage of Vusion

Vusion ointment contains a combination of miconazole and zinc oxide. Miconazole is an antifungal medicine that fights infections caused by fungus. Zinc oxide is a mineral that acts as a skin protectant.

Vusion ointment is used to treat diaper rash with yeast infection (candidiasis) in children and babies who are at least 4 weeks old. It is for use only on diaper rash that has been diagnosed by a doctor.

Vusion Ointment should not be used to prevent diaper rash in either children or incontinent adults.

Vusion side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction to Vusion ointment: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Stop using this medicine and call your doctor at once if you have:

  • severe discomfort, redness, or other irritation of treated skin areas.
  • Less serious Vusion side effects may be more likely, and you may have none at all.

    Before taking Vusion

    You should not use Vusion ointment if your child is allergic to miconazole, zinc, dimethicone, mineral oil, petroleum, or lanolin.

    Do not use the ointment form of this medicine on a child younger than 4 weeks old.

    To make sure Vusion is safe, tell your doctor if your child has ever had:

  • a weak immune system caused by disease or by using certain medicines.

    How to use Vusion

    Usual Pediatric Dose for Diaper Rash:

    Diaper dermatitis complicated by documented candidiasis: 4 weeks or older: Apply to affected area at each diaper change for 7 days.

    Warnings

    Vusion Ointment is used to treat diaper rash with yeast infection (candidiasis).This medicine should not be used to prevent diaper rash.

    Call your doctor at once if your child has severe discomfort or redness of treated skin areas.

    Vusion ointment will not be effective without frequent diaper changes

    What other drugs will affect Vusion

    Medicine used on the skin is not likely to be affected by other drugs you use. But many drugs can interact with each other. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all medicines you use, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
