Before taking 30% Glucose Transfusion Fresenius Kabi treats hypoglycemia (30 bottles x 250ml)

    How to use

Intravenous injection as directed by the physician.

Transmission speed: less than 40 drops/minute equivalent to 120 ml/hour.

    Dosage

The maximum dosage of glucose recommended is 500 - 800 mg for 1 kg of weight in 1 hour.

Must closely monitor the patient's blood sugar. Priority solutions must be transmitted through the central intravenous. In case of emergency hypoglycemia, sometimes it is necessary to transmit into peripheral veins but it is necessary to pass slowly.

Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist. What to do when overdose?

    Expression

    Hyperglycemia, electrolyte balance disorders, edema.

    Handling

    Dosage and/or insulin injections.

If blood sugar is high or with urinary tract: adjusting water and electrolyte balance; Adjust the volume of transmission and transmission speed.

What to do when you forget 1 dose?

    Side Effects

When using 30%glucose, you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).

    Common, ADR> 1/100

  • Local reaction: pain in the injection site, intravenous irritation, intravenous inflammation.
  • Uncommon, 1/1000

  • Metabolism: Water disorders and electrolytes (hypotension, hypoglycemia, hypoglycemia).
  • Rare, 1/10000

  • Systemic: edema or water poisoning (due to prolonged transmission or rapid transmission of a large amount of isothermal solution), dehydration as a result of high blood sugar (when prolonged transmission or too fast solutions).
  • Instructions on how to handle ADR

When experiencing side effects of the drug, it is necessary to stop using and notify the doctor or go to the nearest medical facility for timely treatment.

    Warnings

Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.

    Contraindicated

Glucose 30% contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Patients who do not tolerate glucose, dehydration if not compensated for enough electrolytes.
  • water retention, lower potassium, coma to increase penetration, acidosis.
  • Patients with anuria, patients with bleeding in the skull or in the spinal cord.
  • delirium with dehydration, alcohol poisoning.
  • Do not use glucose solution for patients after a stroke because of high blood sugar in the ischemic area transformed into lactic acid, killing brain cells.
  • Be cautious when using

Must monitor blood sugar regularly, water balance and electrolytes. Need to supplement electrolytes if needed.

Do not transmit glucose solution along with blood through a set of lines because it can cause hemolysis and obstruction.

Venous glucose transmission can lead to epidemic and electrolyte disorders such as hypotension, hypoglycemia, hypoglycemia.

Prolonged or fast transmission of superior glucose solutions can cause cell dehydration due to hyperglycemia.

Do not transmit the hypertonic glucose solution for patients with dehydration due to dehydration will worsen due to osmotic gums.

Be cautious when used for patients with diabetes (rapid transmission can lead to hyperglycemia), patients with malnutrition, lack of thiamin, glucose intolerance, infections, traumatic shock.
