Acyclovir 400 drug is indicated in the following cases:

Treatment of herpes simplex infection on the skin and mucous membrane including genital herpes contamination and recurrence. shingles). The inhibitory activity of acyclovir is highly selected by its affinity for the enzyme thymidin kinase (TK) encoded by HSV and VZV.This enzyme converts acyclovir into acyclovir monophosphate, a nucleotide conductor. How to use

Acyclovir 400 is used by oral.

Dosage

adults

Treatment of herpes simplex, including genital herpes

Take 200mg x 5 times/day (usually every 4 hours when awake) for about 5-10 days.

Patients with serious immunodeficiency or malabsorption patients

Take 400mg x 5 times/day for about 5 days.

Preventing herpes simplex in patients with normal immunity

Take 800mg divided into 2-4 times/day. The dose can be reduced to 400 - 600mg/day. Can be used higher doses of 1g/day.

Treatment process should be stopped every 6 - 12 months to re -evaluate.

Prevention of Herpes Simplex in patients with immunodeficiency

Take 200 - 400mg x 4 times/day.

Treatment of chronic disease prevention

Not suitable for light or non -frequent recurrent herpes Simplex.

Children ≥ 6 years: 800mg x 4 times/day.

Children from 2 - 5 years old: 400mg x 4 times/day.

Children under 2 years old: 200mg x 4 times/day.

Symptoms
