Uses
indications
Albendazole Stella 400 mg is indicated in the following cases:
Treatment of an infection or many types of intestinal parasites such as roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides), needleworms (enterobius vermicularis), hookworm (Ancylostoma duodenale), Mine worms (Necator Americanus), Hairworm (Trichuris Trichuriurura), Eelworm (Strongyloides stercoral) (Hypenolepis Nana), Ta Pork (Taenia Solium), T. Saginata), Opisthorchis vietrini and O. Sinensis.
Albendazole is also effective on immigrant larvae.
The drug also works for tapeworm larvae with brain damage.
Treatment of cases of non -surgical cysts, but the long -term benefit of this treatment must be further evaluated.
Pharmacokology
Pharmacological group: Round worm treatment, benzimidazol.
Code ATC: P02CA03
Albendazole is a derivative of benzimidazol carbamat, in terms of structure related to Mebendazol. The drug has a broad -active spectrum on intestinal worms such as hookworms (Ancylostoma duodenale), mine worms (Necator Americanus), roundworm (Ascaris lumbricoides), needle worms (Enterobius vermicularis), eelworm (Strongyloides stercoralis),
hairworm Albendazole is active in both adult and larvae stage of intestinal worms and eliminates the eggs of roundworms and hair worms. The main metabolic form of Albendazole is Albendazole Sulfoxyd still works and holds an important position in terms of pharmacological effects of the drug.
The mechanism of action of albendazole is similar to other benzimidazols. The drug is associated with the sub -parasite's sub -parasites, thereby inhibiting the coincidence of the sub -sub -trailers into the minor microorganisms of the cytoplasmic cells that are essential for the normal activity of the parasitic cell.
Dynamic pharmacokinetics
In humans, after drinking, Albendazole is very poorly absorbed (
Due to a very strong step metabolism, the albendazole is not seen or only seen in the form of plasma traces. After taking a single dose of 400 mg of albendazole, the peak concentration of the sulfoxyd metabolites achieved in plasma is about 0.04 - 0.55 micrograms/ ml after 1 to 4 hours. When taking the drug with fat foods, plasma concentrations increased to 2-4 times. There is a great difference between individual concentrations of albendazole sulfoxyd in plasma. It may be due to erratic absorption and due to the difference in the speed of drug metabolism.
Albendazole sulfoxyd binds to protein in plasma up to 70%. When used for long -term use in the treatment of tapeworms, the concentration of albendazole sulfoxyd in tapeworms can reach about 20% of plasma concentrations. Albendazole sulfoxyd through the brain blood barrier and concentration in brain - marrow is about 1/3 of plasma concentrations.
Albendazole is rapidly oxidized and completely into a metabolic substance that still works, Albendazole Sulfoxyd, then converted into a compound that no longer works as Albendazole Sulfon.
Albendazole Sulfoxyd has a half -life from plasma for about 9 hours. Sulfoxyd metabolites are eliminated through the kidneys along with sulfon metabolites and other metabolites. A negligible amount of sulfoxyd metabolites excreted through bile.

Side Effects
When using Albendazole Stella 400 mg, you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).
When treating for a short time (no more than 3 days), some cases are uncomfortable in the gastrointestinal tract (epigastric pain, diarrhea) and headache.
In the treatment of tapeworm or tapeworm larvae with brain damage are cases of high and long -term doses, harmful effects are more common and worse.
Usually unwanted effects are not severe and recover without treatment. Only stop treatment when leukocyte or liver abnormalities.
Common (1/100 ≤ ADR
Central nervous system: headache , dizziness, brain manifestation, increased pressure in the brain; Skin: Hair loss (recovery). Uncommon (1/1,000 ≤ ADR Rare (1/10,000 ≤ ADR Blood: Autics of granulocytes, all bloody hemolysis, grain leukemia, thrombocytopenia. Instructions on how to handle ADR: When experiencing side effects of the drug, it is necessary to stop using and notify the doctor or go to the nearest medical facility for timely treatment.

Drug interaction
dexamethason: The lowest stable concentration in the plasma of Albendazole Sulfoxyd is about 50% higher when used in combination with 8 mg of dexamethasone with each dose of Albendazole (15 mg/ kg/ day).
Prazancelel : Prazancelel (40 mg/kg) increases the average concentration in plasma and area under the curve of Albendazole Sulfoxyd about 50% compared to using Albendazole alone (400 mg).
cimetidin: Albendazole sulfoxyd concentration in bile and in fluid fluid increased by about twice in people with folliculum when used in combination with cimetidine (10 mg/ kg/ day) compared to using albendazole lone (20 mg/ kg/ day).
Theophylin : The pharmacokinetics of theophylin (transmitted for 20 minutes aminophyllin 5.8 mg/kg) unchanged after taking 1 dose of Albendazole (400 mg).
Cavalry of the drug: Due to no studies on the correspondence of the drug, not mixing this drug with other drugs.
