Indications

  • Heavy respiratory infections: tonsillitis , sinusitis , otitis media have been treated with conventional antibiotics but does not decrease. and Man, pneumonia - Bronchial. Bone bacteria and joints: osteomalitis bacterial cells. But because Amoxicilin is easily decomposed by beta - lactamase, therefore does not work for bacterial strains producing these enzymes (many of En

Clavulanic acid due to the fermentation of Streptomyces Clavuligerus, which has a beta - lactam structure similar to penicilin, has the ability to inhibit beta - lactamase due to the majority of Gram -negative bacteria and Staphylococcus. Especially, it has a strong inhibition effect of beta - lactamase transmitted via plasmid that resists penicillins and cephalosporins. Clavulanic acid itself has very weak antibacterial effects. Clavulanic acid helps amoxicillin not to be destroyed by beta - lactamase, while expanding the antibacterial spectrum of amoxicillin effectively to many common bacteria that have resisted amoxicillin, resistant to other penicillins and cephalosporins.

    pharmacokinetic

amoxicillin and clavulanic acid both absorbed easily by oral. The concentration of these 2 substances in serum reaches maximum after 1-2 hours of taking the medicine. The absorption of the drug is not affected by food and it is best to drink right before meals.

AMOXICillin's oral bioactivity is 90% and of clavulanic acid is 75%.

The half -life of amoxicilin in serum 1-2 hours and of Clavulanic acid is about 1 hour.

55 - 70% amoxicillin and 30-40% clavulanic acid are discharged through urine in the form of activity. Probenecid extends Amoxicillin's elimination time but does not affect the elimination of clavulanic acid.

    Contraindicated

Augtipha drug is contraindicated in the following cases:

    Caution when using

For patients with manifestation of liver dysfunction: Signs of symptoms of jaundice are rare when taking the drug but may be severe. However, these symptoms are often recovered and will end after 6 weeks of stopping treatment.

For patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin may have severe reactions or death.

    Medicinal interaction

Probenecid : Probenecid reduces the excretion of amoxicillin in the renal tubules. Simultaneous use of probenecid with amoxicillin and clavulanic acid can increase the concentration of amoxicillin in the blood. Unable to use simultaneously.

Oral anticoagulants: Concomitance oral anticoagulant drug with amoxicillin and clavulanic acid can cause abnormal prolonged time prothrombin time. Need to adjust the oral anticoagulant dose.

Allopurinol : simultaneous use of allopurinol with amoxicillin significantly increases the ratio of rash in the patient.

Oral contraceptives: Amoxicillin and clavulanic acid can affect the intestinal bacteria, leading to reducing estrogen reabsorption and reducing the effectiveness of oral contraceptives in combination with estrogen/progesterone.

Amoxicillin can lead to a false positive reaction in the test of glucose concentration in urine.
