Uses

indications

Azibiotic 500 medicine is indicated in the following cases:

  • Treatment of bacterial infections caused by bacteria sensitive to drugs such as lower respiratory tract bacteria including bronchitis, pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, otitis media, upper respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis, sore throat and tonsillitis. Sex in both men and women, Azithromycin is used to treat non -complications of genital tract infections caused by Chlamydia Trachomatis or Neisseria Gonorrhoeae without multiple resistance.

    ATC code: J01F A10, S01 AA26.

The drug has a strong bactericidal effect by attaching the ribosom of pathogenic bacteria, preventing their protein synthesis. However, there was also cross -resistance to erythromycin, so careful consideration when using azithromycin due to spreading macrolid -resistant bacteria in Vietnam.

Azithromycin works well on Gram -positive bacteria such as Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, Staphylococcus aureus. Studies conducted in Vietnam show that these species are resistant to macrolid groups at about 40%; So partly the ability to use azithromycin is more or less limited.

Some other bacteria strains are also very sensitive to azithromycin such as corynebacterium diphtheriae, Clostridium perfringens, peptostreptoccus and propionibacterium acnes.

Always remember that erythromycin -resistant microorganisms may also be resistant to azithromycin as Gram -positive strains, including Enterococcus species and most staphylococcus strains of methicilin are completely resistant to azithromycin.

azithromycin works well in Gram -negative bacteria such as: Haemophilus influenzae, parainfluenzae, and Ducreyi, Moraxella CatVrhalis, Acinetobacter, Yersinia, Legionella Pneumophilia, Bordetella Pertussis, and Parapertussis; Neisseria gonorrhoeae and campylobacter sp ..

In addition, this antibiotic is also effective with Listeria Monocytogenes, Mycobacterium Avium, Mycoplasma Pneumoniae and Hominis, Ureaplasma Urealyticum, Toxoplasma Gondii, Chlamydia Trachomatis and Chlamydia Pneumoniae, Treponema Pallidum and Borrelia Burgdorferi.

Azithromycin has a moderate effect on Gram -negative bacteria such as E. Coli, Salmonella Enteritis and Salmonella Typhi, Entobacter, Acromonas Hydrophilia, Klebsiella. The Gram -negative strains are anti -Azithromycin, Proteus, Serratia, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and Morganella.

Overall, Azithromycin acts slightly weaker in Gram -positive bacteria than erythromycin, but stronger on some Gram -negative bacteria including Haemophilus.

    Dynamic pharmacokinetics

    absorption

Azithromycin after drinking, widely distributed in the body, biological use about 40%. Food reduces the ability to absorb Azithromycin by about 50%. After taking the drug, the plasma peak concentration is reached within 2 to 3 hours.

    distribution

The drug is distributed mainly in tissues such as lungs, tonsils, prostate glands, granulocytes and macrophages ..., many times higher in the blood (about 50 times the maximum concentration found in plasma). However, the concentration of the drug in the central nervous system is very low.

    metabolism and elimination

Azithromycin is small, methyl is reduced in the liver, and is eliminated through bile in the form of unchanged and partly metabolic form.

About 6% of oral dosage except for urine within 72 hours in non -variable form.

The last half of life eliminates in the equivalent of half -life eliminated in soft tissues achieved after the drug from 2 to 4 days.

  • Before taking Azibiotic medicine 500 Medipharco Treatment of infection (2 blisters x 3 tablets)

    How to use

Azibiotic drug taken at 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after eating.

    Dosage

    azithromycin used once daily.

Adults: Treatment of genital infections such as cervicitis, urethritis due to chlamydia trachomatis infection with a single dose of 1 g.

Other indications (bronchitis, pneumonia, sore throat, skin infection and soft tissue): The first day of taking a dose of 500 mg and use 4 more days with a single dose of 250 mg/ day.

Elderly: Dosage by young people's dose.

Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist.

    What to do when overdose?

Treatment: gastric lavage and supportive treatment.

What to do when you forget a dose? However, if close to the next dose, skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the time as planned. Do not drink twice as prescribed.

    Side Effects

When using Azibiotic 500, you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).

Like erythromycin, azithromycin is a good tolerated drug and low unwanted effect rate (about 13% of patients).

The most common is digestive disorders (about 10%) with symptoms such as nausea, abdominal pain, abdominal spasms, vomiting, flatulence, diarrhea, but usually mild and less occur than using erythromycin. It can be seen that the transient change in the number of neutrophils or temporary increase in the liver enzyme, sometimes there may be rash, headache and dizziness.

Hearing effects: long -term use in high doses, azithromycin can reduce the recovery of recovery in some patients.

    Common, ADR> 1/100:

Digestive: vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea.

    Uncommon, 1/100> 1/1000:

Systemic: Fatigue, headache, dizziness, chicken sleep.

    digestion: flatulence, indigestion, no appetite.

    Skin: rash, itching.

    Other effects: vaginitis, cervix ...

    rare. ADR

    Systemic: Anaphylaxis.

    Skin: Thich.

    Liver: enamel transaminase increases.

    Blood: Montogeneous mitigation.

When experiencing side effects of the drug, it is necessary to stop using and notify the doctor or go to the nearest medical facility for timely treatment.

    Warnings

Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.

    Contraindicated

Azibiotic 500 drug is contraindicated in the following cases:

Patients with hypersensitivity to azithromycin or any antibiotic belonging to the macrolid group.

People with liver disease, because of the main excretion of the liver.

    Be cautious when using

be cautious when using azithromycin and other macrolids because of the ability to cause allergies such as vasodilation and anaphylaxis (although rarely).

As with other antibiotics, during the use of drugs, the signs of superinfection must be observed by bacteria that are not sensitive to drugs, including fungi.

Need to adjust the appropriate dose for kidney disease patients with creatinine clearance less than 40 ml/ min.

The ability to drive and operate machinery

Be careful when experiencing side effects such as fatigue, headache, dizziness, chicken sleep.

    Pregnancy

There is no research data on pregnancy.

should only use azithromycin when there are no other appropriate drugs.

    The period of breastfeeding

azithromycin has detected breast milk. The drug must be used carefully for breastfeeding mothers. Only use azithromycin when there are no other appropriate drugs.

    Drug interaction

Because food reduces the bioavailability of the drug by 50%, so Azithromycin is only taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating.

    Conducting chicken spurs:

Not used simultaneously azithromycin with derivatives of chicken mushrooms because of its ability to poison.

    antacids:

When needed, azithromycin is only used at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking antacids.

    carbamazepin:

In the pharmacokinetic study in healthy volunteers, no significant effects on carbamazepine concentration or their metabolic products in plasma.

    cimetidine:

pharmacokinetics of azithromycin is not affected if taking a dose of cimetidin before using azithromycin 2 hours.

    cyclosporin:

Some antibiotics of macrolid group interfere with cyclosporin metabolism, so it is necessary to monitor the concentration and adjust the dose of cyclosporin.

    digoxin:

For some patients, azithromycin can affect digoxin metabolism in the intestine. Therefore, when using these two drugs simultaneously, it is necessary to monitor the concentration of digoxin because it has the ability to increase the content of digoxin.

    methylprednisolon:

Studies conducted on healthy volunteers have shown that azithromycin has no significant impact on pharmacokinetics of Methylprednisolon.

    Theophylin:

There has not been any effect on pharmacokinetics when 2 drugs azithromycin and theophylin are used in healthy volunteers, but generally should monitor theophylin concentration when using these two drugs for patients.

    warfarin:

When studying pharmacokinetics on healthy volunteers using a single dose of 15 mg Warfarin, azithromycin does not affect anticoagulant effects. These 2 drugs can be used at the same time, but still need to monitor the patient's blood clotting time.

    Storage

In a dry place, temperatures below 30 ° C, avoid light.
