Pharmacokic

azithromycin is a macrolid antibiotic belonging to azalid group. The mechanism of action of azithromycin is to inhibit bacterial protein synthesis by attaching to the subunit of ribosom 50s and preventing the transfer of peptides. Azithromycin is sensitive to typical bacteria, such as:

Gram -positive aerobic bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes.

Gram -negative aerobic bacteria: Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Legionella Pneumophila, Moraxella CatVrhalis, Pasteurella Multocida.

Anaerobic bacteria: Clostridium perfringens, Fusobacterium spp., Prevotella spp., Porphyromonas spp.

Other bacteria: Chlamydia trachomatis.

Dynamic pharmacokinetics

Absorption: Azithromycin is used for orally, about 40%.

Distribution: Peak concentration in plasma is achieved from 2 to 3 hours after drinking, but azithromycin is widely distributed in tissues and concentrations of drugs in tissue is usually higher than in the blood, so contrary to most other antibiotics, low plasma concentration as a guide on the effectiveness of the drug. The drug is concentrated in white blood cells with high concentrations. A small amount is distributed in cerebrospinal fluid when the meninges are not inflamed.

Metabolism: Azithromycin is small in the liver and is excreted in bile in a constant form and a metabolic form.

Elimination: About 6% of oral doses are eliminated through urine. The last waste sale time is about 68 hours.

Warnings

Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.

contraindicated

Azicine 250mg drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to azithromycin, erythromycin or any antibiotic belonging to the macrolid group.

Be cautious when using

Avoid indicating for children under 6 months old.

Serious hypersensitivity reactions include: angioedema, anaphylactic and rare skin reactions in patients using azithromycin.

Because azithromycin is eliminated mainly through the liver, caution should be used for patients with liver function impairment. Because there is little data on the use of azithromycin in patients with renal impairment, careful medication should be used for patients with glomerular filtration of less than 10 ml/min.

Extend the period of ultraviolet reduction and QT interval with the risk of arrhythmia and torsion that has been reported rare for macrolid. The possibility of the above effects of azithromycin cannot be completely excluded for patients at risk of prolonged ultraviolet reduction.

To limit the development of anti -drug bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of azithromycin and other antibacterial drugs, only drugs should be used to treat and prevent obvious infections or suspect infections by sensitive bacteria.

Azicine 250mg contains sucrose (saccharose). This medication should not be used for patients with rare genetic problems that are fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose absorption or enzyme deficiency.

Azicine 250mg contains aspartam. Aspartam is a source of phenylalanin, which can be harmful to patients with phenylketonuria (PKU), a rare genetic disorder causing phenylalanin accumulation because the body cannot be appropriately eliminated.

The ability to drive and operate machinery

There is no information on the influence of azithromycin on the ability to drive or operate machinery. However, it is necessary to be cautious with unwanted effects that can occur when taking the drug such as fatigue, headache, dizziness and sleep.

Pregnancy

There is no full research and control of azithromycin use for pregnant women, only medication for pregnant women when really necessary.

Lactation period

azithromycin is found in breast milk, need to use caution for women who are breastfeeding.

Interactive drug

Aluminum antacids/Magnesi Hydroxyd: can reduce the peak concentration of azithromycin, so it should be used separately.

Anticoagulant: The increase in the effect of Warfarin and bleeding has occurred in a few patients using azithromycin, but most patients have not seen clinical interaction progress.

Digitalis glycosides: In some patients, there is an inevitable increase in serum Digoxin concentration from 2 to 4 times when using azithromycin. The same interaction can be encountered with digitoxin. Digitalis poisoning may occur.

ergotamine and dihydrorogotamine: The typical toxicity of naked spurs is serious peripheral spasms and loss of sensation.

triazolam: The drug reduces the clearance of triazolam and thus increases the pharmacological effect of triazolam.

Modified drugs through the cytochrom P450 system: The drug increases the serum concentration of carbamazepin, cyclosporin, hexobarbital and phenytoin.

Storage

Store in closed packaging, dry place. The temperature does not exceed 30 ° C.
