Iodine is free to kill germs and Iodine connected in a complex is the source of reserves. When the drug is exposed to the skin and mucous membranes, iodine is released from a complex. Iodine freely reacts with the group - SH or -OH of amino acids in enzymes and protein structures of microorganisms, inactivated and destroyed those enzymes and proteins. Most microorganisms are destroyed only in a minute in vitro, a lot of destruction in just 15 to 30 seconds.

In this process, iodine is discolored; Accordingly, it can be seen that the level of effect of the drug through the darkness of brown. The reminders may be recommended when discoloration. Drug resistance has not been reported.

    absorption

Local use often rarely causes body iodine absorption. This preparation is only used on the spot on the skin and skin wounds.

Povidone (PVP): Povidone's ability to absorb and eliminate the kidneys depends on the molecular weight (average) of the compound. For molecular weight from 35,000 to 50,000 can cause accumulation.

iodine: How to absorb iodine or iodine compounds into organizations similar to when iodine is used by other lines. The integral distribution is approximately 38% of the body mass, calculated by kg. Elimination mainly through the kidneys with clearance from 15 to 60ml of serum depending on the serum iodine concentration and creatinine clearance.

Povidon-IUD can cause local reactions on the skin despite being less irritated than IOD. Applying Povidon-IUD on a wide skin or severe burns can cause systemic side effects such as metabolic acid infections, hyperplasia and kidney failure.

There have been a number of cases that single -body allergic reactions are acute with symptoms of hypotension and/or folding (anaphylactic reaction). Prolonged use of povidone-iodine in the treatment of wounds or large-scale burns can lead to obvious iodine absorption.

In some special cases, patients with a history of thyroid disease can progress to increase thyroid function (caused by iodine), occasionally symptoms such as fast circuit or restlessness.

After using large amounts of povidone-iodine (for example, in the treatment of burns), electrolyte disorders and osmotic concentration disorders of plasma, renal dysfunction such as acute renal failure and metabolic acid infection.
