Uses
indications
Canesten 1 daytherapy 500 mg is indicated in cases of local vaginitis treatment due to:
Code ATC: D01AC01
Mechanism of action
Clotrimazol has an anti -fungal effect by inhibiting Ergosterol synthesis. Ergosterol synthesis inhibit the structure and activity of the mushroom cytoplasm.
Clotrimazol has a spectrum anti -fungal effect in both in vitro and in vivo including: skin fungus, yeast, mold, etc.
In appropriate testing conditions, the mic value of these mushrooms is less than 0.062 - 8.0 ng/ml of substrate. The mechanism of acting of clotrimazol is a fungus or fungal pliers depending on the clotrimazol level at the fungal infection position. In-Vitro activity limits the growth of mushroom components, and the mushroom spores are only very sensitive.
In addition to anti-fungal effects, Clotrimazol also works on Gram (+) microorganisms (Streptococci/ Staphylococci/ Gardnerella Vaginalis), and Gram (-) (BACTOIDES) microorganisms.
On in -vitro, clotrimazol inhibits the multiplication of corynebacteria and Gram (+) () (excluding Enterococci) at a concentration of 0.5 - 10 ng/ml of substrate.
The antigen of sensitive fungal strains rarely occurs; The development of secondary resistance of sensitive fungal strains is only detected in very few single cases when treating drugs.
pharmacokinetics
Pharmacokinetic studies after treatment show that only a small amount of clotrimazol (3 - 10%) is absorbed.
Because the amount of clotrimazol absorption is metabolized through the liver quickly into metabolic substances that are no longer active, the peak concentration of plasma of clotrimazole after the dose of 500 mg is less than 10 ng/ml, this result shows that the use of Clotrimazol places vagina almost less body effects or significant side effects.
