Uses

Indications

Cefadroxil drugs are indicated in the following cases:

Cefadroxil 250mg is indicated to treat infections caused by sensitive bacteria:

  • Sore throat and tonsillitis caused by streptococcus.
  • Bronchitis, infection pneumonia.
  • Uncontrolled urinary tract infections: nephritis - pyelonephritis, cystitis.

  • Skin infections and soft tissue: abscess, pimples, impetigo, halo inflammation, purulent dermatitis, lymphadenitis.
  • Pharmacy

    Mechanism of impact

cefadroxil is an antibiotic cephalosporin group used orally, inhibited synthesis of bacterial cell walls by attaching one or more protein attached to penicillin (penicillin binding protein, PBP). As a result, the synthetic cell wall will be weakened and unprofitable and lead to bacterial cell decomposition.

    resistance mechanism

Cefadroxil is active against bacteria that produce beta-lactamase in low or medium quantities, such as stamp-1. However, Cefadroxil is inactivated by beta-lactamase capable of hydrolyzing cephalosporins such as Beta Lactamase broad spectrum and cephalosporinase chromosomes such as AMPC enzymes.

Cefadroxil will not be active against bacteria when penicillin-mounted proteins are reduced affinity associated with beta-lactam. Resistance may also occur due to non -absorbing antibiotics into bacterial cell membranes or bacterial pumping mechanisms. More than one of these four anti -drug mechanisms can occur in the same bacterial body.

In In vitro, the first -generation cephalosporin used oral activity is lower than penicillin G and V on Gram -positive bacteria and aminopenicillin drugs on H. Influenzae.

    pharmacokinetic

    absorption

Cefadroxil is almost completely absorbed after drinking. Using drugs with food does not affect the absorption level of the drug.

    Distribution

After taking the dose of 500mg (1,000mg), the peak concentration of the drug in plasma is about 16 (30) PG/mL after 1 - 1.3 hours. About 18-20% Cefadroxil binds to plasma proteins. Cephalosporin does not penetrate into the cerebrospinal fluid and is not used to treat meningitis (see the indicated item).

    Metabolism

    Cefadroxil is not metabolized.

    Elimination

Cefadroxil is eliminated slower than antibiotics of cephalosporin group used by the generation (the sale time of the drug in plasma is about 1.4 - 2.6 hours) so the distance between doses can last from 12 - 24 hours. About 90 % of the dosage excreted through the kidneys within 24 hours in constant form. Cefadroxil can be removed from the body by hemolysis.

Before taking Cefadroxil 250mg Domesco oral powder for infection treatment (10 packs)

    How to use

Take oral, put the powder in 10 - 15ml of water (about 2-3 teaspoons), stir and drink immediately.

Cefadroxil's bioavailability is not affected by food so it can be taken with food or when hungry. Patients with stomach -intestinal disorders, can take medicine with food.

can increase the dose to 100mg/kg/day.

    Adults

may increase the dose depending on the degree of infection. The maximum dose is 4g/day. Chronic urinary tract infections must be treated for a long and intensive treatment, and continues to test sensitivity and clinical monitoring.

    kidney failure

Need to adjust the dose according to creatinine clearance to prevent cefadroxil accumulation. In patients with creatinine clearance

Contraindicated Cedroxil children with kidney failure and children need hemolysis.

    Patients with hemolysis

After 6 - 8 hours of hemolysis, 63 % dose of 1,000mg cephalosporin was eliminated. The sale time of cephalosporin while blood decomposition is about 3 hours. Patients should be given an additional hemolysis of 500mg - 1,000mg at the end of the hemolysis.

    liver failure

Do not carefully adjust the dose.

    Elderly

Cefadroxil excreted the kidneys, so adjusting the dose as in people with renal failure.

Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist.

What to do when overdose? However, according to the experience of treating other cephalosporins, symptoms may occur such as nausea, hallucinations, increased reflexes, symptoms of foreign tower, gloomy consciousness or even coma and kidney failure.

How to handle the drug overdose: Causes vomiting immediately or gastric lavage, if you carefully appraise hematurosis

What to do when forgetting 1 dose? However, if the time to relax with the next dose is too short, skip the dose and continue the calendar of the drug. Do not use double dose to compensate for missed dose.

    Side Effects

When using Cefadroxil, you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).

    Common, ADR> 1/100

  • Disorders of the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, abdominal pain, tongue inflammation.
  • Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: itching, rash, allergic rash, urticaria.

    Uncommon, 1/1000

Infections and parasites infection: The growth of opportunistic fungus such as vaginal mushrooms, Candida.

Instructions on how to handle ADR

When experiencing side effects of the drug, it is necessary to stop using and notify the doctor or go to the nearest medical facility for timely treatment.

    Warnings

Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.

    Contraindicated

Cefadroxil drugs contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Hypersensitivity to cefadroxil, antibiotics belonging to the cephalosporin group or any ingredients of the drug.
  • Patients with a history of severe allergy to penicillin or other beta-lactam antibiotics.
  • Caution when using

cefadroxil without cerebrospinal fluid and not indicated to treat meningitis.

penicillin is the first selected drug to treat streptococcus pyogenes infections and prevent rheumatoid fever. Not enough data for using Cefadroxil for preventive treatment.

Be cautious in patients who have a history of severe allergies or asthma. Patients with a mild history of penicillin or other beta -lactam drugs are not cephalosporin groups, should be cautious when using cefadroxil because it can cause cross allergies (the incidence of 5 - 10%).

Caution for patients with impaired renal function and adjusting the dose according to the degree of renal failure.

Cefadroxil should be used carefully in patients with a history of stomach -intestinal disorders, especially colitis. Diarrhea may reduce the reabsorption of other drugs to reduce the effects of the drug.

When allergic reactions occur (urticaria, foreign rash, itching, hypotension and increased heart rate, respiratory disorders, stroke ...) should stop immediately and apply appropriate treatment measures (sympathetic nerve stimulants, corticosteroids or antihistamines).

Should regularly check the blood formula and liver and kidney function when taking the drug for a long time. Fungal superinfection (for example, Candida) can occur when using Cefadroxil for a long time.

Palm of the fake colitis due to the use of weight antibiotics is noted in patients with severe and prolonged diarrhea. In this case, Cefadroxil should be discontinued immediately and started a suitable therapy (such as taking Vancomycin 250mg, 4 times/day). Contraindications for drugs that reduce bowel motility.

Serious infections that threaten life or laminated bacterial infections with high or repeat treatment every day: can use cephalosporin antibiotics on oral.

Cefadroxil may cause false positive with the Coombs test during or after taking the drug. This result is similar to that when performing the Coombs test in babies whose mothers are treated with cephalosporin before birth.

Forced diuretic benefits reduce cefadroxil levels in plasma.

The ureter glucose is recommended by enzyme method (for example, a test strip) in patients being treated with Cefadroxil because the fast test can produce inaccurate results.

The drug contains mannitol, may have a light laxative effect.

The ability to drive and operate machinery

The drug can cause headaches, dizziness, anxiety, insomnia and fatigue. Be cautious when driving, operating machinery.

    Pregnancy

although there is no evidence that causes teratogenic from animal studies and clinical experience, safe use during pregnancy has not been determined. The use of cefadroxil during pregnancy should be closely monitored.

    Breastfeeding period

cefadroxil excreted in breast milk with low concentrations, sensitivity, diarrhea or fungal infection on the mucosa in newborns may occur. The use of cefadroxil in nursing mothers should be closely monitored.

    Medicinal interaction

does not combine cefadroxil with bactericidal drugs (such as tetracyclin, erythromycin, Suifonamid, Cloramphenicol) due to antagonistic effects.

Avoid simultaneous use of cefadroxil with aminoglycosides, polymyxin B, colistin or high -dose dosage diuretics because it can increase the toxicity of the kidneys.

It is necessary to regularly check the blood coagulation parameters when taking long -term cefadroxil along with anticoagulant drugs or platelet aggregation inhibitors to avoid hemorrhage complications.

Concentrated with probenecid can cause Cefadroxil in serum and higher bile and longer maintained.

Combined with cholestyramin may reduce the bioavailability of cefadroxil.

Do not have studies on oral medications, do not mix this drug with other drugs.

    Storage

Store in a dry place, temperatures below 30 ° C, avoiding light. Store in the original packaging of the drug.
