Indications
The use of cephalexin 500mg drug is indicated in the following cases:
Treatment of bacterial infections caused by bacteria:
Infectious respiratory infections: Ear-nose infections such as sinusitis, tonsillitis and pharyngitis.
Lower respiratory infections such as pneumonia, acute and chronic bronchitis.
Gastrointestinal, liver, genital infections.
Skin and soft tissue infections such as boils, pus disease and impetigo.
Pharmacokology
cephalexin is the first -generation cephalosporin antibiotic, which has bactericidal effects by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. Cephalexin is an antibiotic, antibacterial spectrum like the first -generation cephalosporin. Cephalexin is stable with staphylococcus penicillinase, thus working with staphylococcus aureus aureus aproof penicilin (or ampicilin). Cephalexin has the effect of printing in vitro on the following bacteria: Streptococcus beta blood -soluble, Staphylococcus - including coagulase strains (+), coagulase ( -) and penicilinase, streptococcus pneumoniae, some Eschrichia coli, Proteus Mirabilis, some KlieBsella SPPPSELLA SPPPSELLA Branhamella Catrhlis, Shigella. Haemophilus Influenzae often reduces sensitivity. Cephalexin also works on the majority of ampicillin -resistant e.coli.
pharmacokinetic
absorption
The drug is almost completely absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and reaches the peak concentration of plasma around 9 and 18microgam/ml after an hour with the corresponding oral dose of 250 and 500mg, double the double dose reaches the double concentration. Taking medicine with food can slow down the ability to absorb but the total amount of drugs absorb does not change.
Distribution
cephalexin is widely distributed throughout the body, but the amount in cerebrospinal fluid is negligible. Cephalexin passes through the placenta and excretes breast milk with low concentrations. Cephalexin is not metabolized.
Elimination
About 80% of the dose is eliminated into urine in the form of unchanged in the first 6 hours through glomerular filtration and excreted in the renal tubules. The drug is excreted through dialysis and abdominal ducts (20 - 50%).

What to do when overdose?
Overdose treatment should consider the overdose of many drugs, drug interaction and abnormal pharmacokinetics of the patient. There is no need to wash the stomach, unless drinking cephalexin is 5-10 times the normal dose. Protect the respiratory tract of the patient, support ventilation and transmission. Give activated carbon many times instead or add to gastric lavage. Need to protect the respiratory tract of the patient while gastrointestinal or active carbon.
What to do when forgetting a dose? However, if close to the next dose, skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the time as planned. Note that it should not be used double the prescribed dose.

Warnings
Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.
Contraindicated
Cephalexin drugs are contraindicated in the following cases:
Caution when using
cephalexin is usually well tolerated even in patients with penicillin allergies, but there are also very few cross -allergens. Like other broad -spectrum antibiotics, long -term use of cephalexin can cause over -sensitive bacteria (for example, Candida, Enterococus, Clostridium difficile), in this case, the drug should be stopped. There has been a notice of fake colitis when using broad spectrum antibiotics, so it is necessary to pay attention to this diagnosis in patients with severe diarrhea or after antibiotic use.
People with renal failure have to reduce the dose when using the drug.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women in patients with cephalexin may have a false positive reaction when testing the urinary glucose with "benunkic" solution, fehling solution or "clinitest", but with enzyme tests are not affected.
There is a notice of cephalexin causing positive positive Coombs. Cephalexin can affect the quantification of creatinine with picrat, giving fake high results, but the increase does not seem significant in clinical.
The ability to drive and operate machinery
No report.
Pregnancy
Experimental research and clinical experience have not shown signs of toxicity to the fetus and teratogenic. However, it should only be used for pregnant people when really necessary.
Breastfeeding period
The concentration of the drug in breast milk is very low. However, it is still recommended to consider the temporary breastfeeding during the membrane of the mother.
Medicinal interaction
Use high -dose cephalospins with other drugs that are also toxic to kidneys such as aminoglycosides or strong diuretics (such as furosemid, ethacrynic acid and piretanid) that can adversely affect kidney function. Cholestyramin is attached to cephalexin in the intestine to slow their absorption. Probenecid increases serum levels and increases the selling time of cephalexin.
Storage
Where dry, temperatures are below 30 ° C.
