Indications

0.3% Ciprofloxacin is indicated in the following cases:

  • ears:

  • Treatment of external ear infections, acute otitis media and chronic otitis media. The bactericidal effect of ciprofloxacin is due to the ability to inhibit the activity of the enzyme DNA - Gyrase, which is an essential enzyme for bacterial DNA synthesis.

Ciprofloxacin has a very wide antibacterial spectrum, including most important pathogens. Most gram -negative bacteria, including pseudomonas and enterobacter are sensitive to the drug. Bacteria that cause intestinal diseases such as Salmonella, Shigella, Yersina and Vibrio Cholerae are often highly sensitive.

However, with increasing use and abuse of drugs, there was a report on increasing the anti -drug rate of Salmonella. The bacteria that cause respiratory diseases such as Haemophilus and Legionella are often sensitive, Mycoplasma and Chlamydia are only sensitive to the drug. Neisseria is often sensitive to the drug. In general, Gram -positive bacteria (Enterococcus strains, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Listeria monocytogenes ...) are less sensitive. Ciprofloxacin does not work on most anaerobic bacteria.

    Dynamic pharmacokinetics

ciprofloxacin when small eyes, small ears mainly work on the spot.

A whole body absorption study is conducted in which small eye solution ciprofloxacin is small every 2 hours while awake within 2 days and another 5 days then small every 4 hours when awake. The plasma concentration is noted below 5 ng/ml. The average concentration is less than 2.5 ng/ml.
