Indications

Dimenhydrinat 50mg drug is indicated in the following cases:

  • Prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting, dizziness due to seasickness, drunkenness when traveling.
  • Treatment of symptoms of vomiting, dizziness in enamiere disease and other vestibular disorders.
  • Dimenhydrinat absorbs well after drinking or injecting. The anti -vomiting effect usually starts immediately after intravenous injection, within 15 - 30 minutes after drinking, 30-45 minutes after the rectum and 20-30 minutes after the intramuscular injection. Time works from 3 to 6 hours after taking the drug. There is little information about the distribution and metabolism of dimenhydrinat. Like other antihistamine drugs, the drug can be widely distributed into the functions of the body, through the placenta, metabolized in the liver and eliminated through the urine. A small amount of dimenhydrinat is distributed into milk.

    Pharmacokology

Dimenhydrinat is mainly used as a backup (more effective), anti -vomiting when motion sickness and anti -dizziness. The mechanism of these effects is unknown, but it may be related to Dimenhydrinat that reduces vestibular stimulation, the first impact on the earcings and when using high doses, the semicircular tubes of the inner ear.

The anti -vomiting effect can also be due to the chemical trigger trigger zone. Some researchers suggest that dimenhydrinat inhibits acetylcholin is the main mechanism of action, because stimulating acetylcholin in the vestibular system and mesh may be the cause of nausea and vomiting due to motion sickness.

The central nervous system inhibitors often decrease after a few days of treatment and the anti -vomiting effect can be partially reduced after prolonged use. Dimenhydrinat is an antihistamine, but has not been evaluated for anti -allergy effects

    Mechanism of action:

Dimenhydrinat is a first -generation H1 antihistamine, belonging to ethanolamine derivative group that causes strong sleep and Muscarin resistance. The drug works by competing with histamine in H1 receptors. In addition to antihistamine, Dimenhydrinat also has anti -cholinergic effects, anti -vomiting and sedative effects.
