Indications

Dourso drugs are indicated in the following cases:

  • Treatment of cholesterol gallbladder stones: Small or asymptomatic gallbladder stones, no contrast, with a diameter of less than 15 mm, the gallbladder is still working normally (confirmed by gallbladder x -rays), in patients with stones but are contraindicated for surgery.

    Pharmacy

Ursodeoxycholic acid is a natural bile salts present with a very low content in the body. Unlike other endogenous bile salts, ursodeoxycholic acid is very watery and has no cleaning effect.

Ursodeoxycholic acid works on the liver -intestinal cycle of endogenous bile acids: increasing bile secretion, reducing the reabsorption of bile fluid by inhibiting active reabsorption in the intestine, thereby reducing the concentration of endogenous bile acids in the blood.

Ursodeoxycholic acid is one of the treatments for gallstones that are essentially cholesterol by reducing cholesterol levels in bile fluid. This effect is a combination of various mechanisms: reducing cholesterol reabsorption, increasing cholesterol metabolism in the liver into bile acids through the path of increasing the activity in the liver of the enzyme of cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase. Moreover, ursodeoxycholic acid maintains cholesterol in the form of soluble in bile fluid.

    Dynamic pharmacy

Ursodeoxycholic acid is passive in the small intestine. Metabolic through the liver for the first time from 50 to 60%. In the liver, ursodeoxycholic acid is associated with glycine and taurine. At the dose of 10 - 15 mg/kg/day, Ursodeoxycholic acid accounts for about 50 - 70% of bile acids circulating in the body.

  • Side Effects

When using dourso, you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).

  • Due to poor intestinal solubility, ursodeoxycholic acid does not cause mucous irritation, so the cases of diarrhea are very rare. Therefore, the recommended starting dose of these patients is 200 mg/day.
  • Instructions on how to handle ADR

Notify the doctor with unwanted effects when using the drug.

With minor adverse reactions, usually just stop the drug. In case of severe sensitivity or allergic reactions, supportive treatment (airy keeping and using epinephrine, oxygen breathing, antihistamine, corticosteroids ...).

    Warnings

Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.

    Contraindicated

Contraindicated dourso drugs in the following cases:

  • Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug.

    Precautions when used

for long -term therapy, although Ursodeoxycholic acid has no cancer effect, rectal monitoring is recommended.

In case of treatment of cholesterol gallbladder stones, it is recommended to check the effectiveness of visual diagnosis after 6 months.

In the treatment of chronic liver disease: Patients with cirrhosis combined with impaired liver or cholestatic impairment (blood bilirubin content on 200 micromol/l), liver function (and if possible, plasma concentration of bile acids) must be monitored.

In the case of bile stasis causing rashes, the dose of ursodeoxycholic acid should be gradually increased at the starting dose of 200 mg/day. In this case, the simultaneous use of Cholestyramine is necessary with Cholestyramine conditions that must be used for 5 hours with ursodeoxycholic acid.

The ability to drive and operate machinery

    does not affect.

    Pregnancy

Animal studies have shown the ability to cause teratogenicity. There is not enough research data to assess the likelihood of monitoring or fetal toxicity of this drug when used during pregnancy. Do not use ursodeoxycholic acid during pregnancy except for very limited and appraised indications.

    Breastfeeding period

Do not use Ursodeoxycholic acid during breastfeeding except for very limited and appraised indications.

    Drug interaction

Unsonized with cholestyramine: The effect of ursodexolic acid is reduced due to cohesion with cholestyramine and is excreted. If you need to use cholestyramine, use 5 hours to use ursodeoxycholic acid.

Do not use with estrogen stimulants, as these drugs cause bile cholesterol.

Avoid use with other bile acids such as antacids, activated carbon because it can reduce the effectiveness of treatment.
