Uses

indications

Exopan drugs are indicated in the following cases:

Helps treat iron deficiency and anemia due to iron deficiency (with iron deficiency).

Preventive treatment for iron deficiency to meet daily recommendations (RDA) in pregnant and lactating women, children, young people, women preparing to get pregnant and adults (such as vegetarians and the elderly).

Iron deficiency can lead to general symptoms such as increased fatigue, discomfort, restlessness, headache, anorexia, immunodeficiency, urticaria, dry skin, hair and brittle nails.

Pharmacokology

iron complex (III) Hydroxyd polymaltose.

Pharmacological group: Vitamins and minerals/drugs for anemia.

ATC code: B03AB05.

Iron salts, including iron (III), hydroxyd polymaltose, plays an important role in treatment as well as the prevention of iron deficiency anemia. Iron storage can be stored in ferritin and hemosiderin forms to create hemoglobin. Iron core (III) hydroxide of iron (III) hydroxyd polymaltose is surrounded by many large molecules with molecules of about 52300 dalton, so large that its diffusion through the mucous membrane is less than 40 times. Iron in iron nucleus (III) hydroxyd polymaltose is linked to the same structure as ferritin. Iron (III) Hydroxyd polymaltose is different from iron (II) sulfate thanks to high safety and low toxicity due to no free iron ions. Iron (III) Hydroxyd Polymaltose is a complex of iron (III) hydroxyd in combination with polymaltose. Its ionized ionization form helps the stomach are less irritated than conventional iron salts, helping patients tolerated better, a very important point in the long -term treatment of iron deficiency anemia with iron -containing preparations. The effectiveness of iron (III) hydroxyd polymaltose in preventing and treating iron deficiency anemia has been proven in clinical trials.

Hemoglobin value increases faster when using iron (III) Hydroxyd polymaltose compared to conventional iron salts. When using iron (III) hydroxyd polymaltose has seen hemoglobin value increased to 0.8 mg/dl per week. In addition, there is a faster increase than hematocrit, MCV, serum and ferritin.

Iron deficiency can lead to general symptoms such as increased fatigue, discomfort, restlessness, headache, anorexia, immunodeficiency, urticaria, dry skin, hair and brittle nails.

Dynamic pharmacokinetics

The absorption of iron ion (III) from iron (III) Hydroxyd Polymaltose is a physiological process. When the iron complex (III) Hydroxyd Polymaltose is exposed to the cohesion of iron on the mucosal surface, it will release iron ions (III) and are actively transported into the mucosal cell thanks to a carrier protein and then linked to ferritin or transferring. The carrier proteins include mucin, intergrin and mobilferrin. Iron is released from carrier proteins and is stored in mucosal cells in the form of ferritin or carried by the carrier proteins and there is released to combine with Transferring.

The bioavailability of iron complex (III) Hydroxyd polymaltose is equivalent to iron salts II in experimental animals and in humans on hemoglobin synthesis. The bioavailability of iron (III) hydroxyd polymaltose when taken is not affected by the ingredients of food such as phytic acid, oxalic acid, tannin, sodium alginate cholin salt, vitamin A, D3, E, soybean oil and flour, unlike conventional iron salts. Iron in iron complex (III) Hydroxyd polymaltose comes in

Should drink in or immediately after eating. Exopan can be used with fruit juice, vegetable juice or food. Light color change does not affect product quality.

Dosage

daily dose can be divided into small or disposable doses.

Dosage and treatment time depend on the degree of iron deficiency or as directed by the doctor for each specific case.

iron deficiency anemia (with iron deficiency): Treatment for about 3-5 months until the value of hemoglobin returns to normal, then it is necessary to continue treatment for a few weeks with the indications for the potential iron deficiency to supplement the amount of iron reserves.

Hidden iron deficiency: Treatment for about 1-2 months.

What to do when using overdose? Exopan is generally safe.

Studies comparing iron (II) sulfate and iron (III) Hydroxyd polymaltose on mice also identify the LD50 of iron (II) sulfate as 350 mg/kg, but there is no disease or death in the group using iron (III) hydroxide polymaltose in doses of over 1000 mg/kg. The iron absorption of iron (III) Hydroxyd polymaltose is less than iron (III) Hydroxyd Polymaltose has better tolerance with digestive tract, along with the safety of iron (III) higher hydroxide polymaltose, which may have an important significant to reduce the risk of iron overdose. Although iron (III) Hydroxyd polymaltose is safer than iron salts (II) inorganic, can still overdose but rare. Symptoms of iron overdose include fatigue, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, stools such as darkness, fast and weak pulse, fever, coma, convulsions and death. Need emergency immediately if iron overdose.

In an emergency, call the 115 emergency center immediately or go to the nearest local health station.

What to do when you forget 1 dose? However, if the time to relax with the next dose is too short, skip the dose and continue the calendar of the drug. Do not use double dose to compensate for missed dose.
