Uses
Indications
Farica 120mg indicated treatment in adults and children 12 years and older to reduce symptoms related to seasonal allergic rhinitis.
Pharmacological
Fexofenadin is a second -generation antihistamine drug, which has a specific and selective antagonistic effect on the peripheral H1.
The drug is a metabolic substance of terfenadin, also competing with histamines at H1 receptors in the digestive tract, blood vessels and respiratory tract, but no toxicity for the heart due to no
potassium channel phemps related to myocardial cycle.
Fexofenadin has no significant effect on acetylcholin, dopamine antagonism and has no effect on inhibiting receptors of Alpha1 or beta adrenergic. At the treatment dose, the drug does not cause sleep or affects the central nervous system. The drug has a fast and prolonged effect due to the near -touch drug, forming a sustainable complex and slowly separated.
Dynamic pharmacokinetics
Good absorbing drugs when taken orally and starting to work after 60 minutes. The peak concentration in the blood is achieved after 2-3 hours. Fat -rich foods reduce the peak concentration in plasma by about 17% and extend the time to reach the peak concentration of the drug to about 4 hours).
Anti -antihistamine effect lasts more than 12 hours. The associated ratio of plasma proteins of the drug is 60-70%, mainly with albumin and alpha1-acid glycoprotein. Fexofenadin does not pass the brain barrier.
Fexofenadin is very smaller (about 5%, mainly in the intestinal mucosa. Only about 0.5 - 1.5% are metabolized in the liver thanks to the cytochrom P450 enzyme system into non -active substances). About 3.5% of fexofenadin dose metabolized through phase II (not related to the cytochrom P450 enzyme system) into methyl ester derivatives. This metabolic substance is only seen in the stool, so there may be the participation of intestinal bacteria in this metabolism.
Half of Fexofenadin elimination is about 14.4 hours, longer (31 - 72%) in kidney failure. The drug excreted mainly in feces (approximately 80%) and urine (11 - 12%) in constant form.
Pharmacokinetics in kidney failure
CLCR 41 - 80ml/minute: The peak concentration is 87%higher, half -life eliminates longer than 59%.

How to use
Farica 120mg Form of oral film tablets. Drink whole tablets with water. The time to take the drug does not depend on the meal. Do not take medicine with fruit juice.

Children under 12 years:
There is no enough data on safety and effectiveness of drugs when used for children under 12 years old.
Elderly patients, kidney failure, liver failure: No dose adjustment in these patients.
Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist. What to do when overdose? However, drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth have been reported.
How to handle:
Use conventional measures to eliminate the drug that has not been absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract.
Supporting and symptomatic treatment.
Hemolysis is an insignificant reduction in blood levels (1.7%).
No specific antidote.
In an emergency, call the 115 emergency center immediately or go to the nearest local health station.
What to do when you forget 1 dose? However, if the time to relax with the next dose is too short, skip the dose and continue the calendar of the drug. Do not use double dose to compensate for missed dose.
Side Effects

Common, ADR> 1/100:
ADR of the drug is usually mild, only 2.2% of patients have to stop the drug due to ADR of the drug.
Warnings
Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.
Contraindicated
Farica 120mg contraindications in the following cases:
Caution when using
should be careful and adjust the appropriate dose for people with impaired renal function because the drug level in plasma increases due to half -life elimination. Be careful when taking medicine for the elderly (over 65 years old) often has impaired kidney function.
Safety and effectiveness of drugs in children under 12 years old have not been determined.
It is necessary to stop Fexofenadine at least 24 -48 hours before conducting antigen tests on the skin. Use fexofenadine to make psoriasis worse.
Patients with a history of cardiovascular disease or cardiovascular disease should be warned that antihistamine drugs are associated with side effects such as tachycardia and chest drum.
The drug contains lactose and therefore should not be used for patients with rare genetic such as: galactose intolerance, severe or poorly absorbed lactase deficiency.
Using drugs for pregnant or lactating women
Pregnancy
There is no complete research on pregnant women, so only use fexofenadin for pregnant women when the maternal benefits are superior to the risk of the fetus.
Breastfeeding period
It is not clear whether the drug is excreted in milk or not, though not seeing unwanted effects in infants when nursing mothers use fexofenadin, so be careful when using fexofenadin for breastfeeding women.
The effect of the drug on the ability to drive and operate machinery
drugs that cause less drowsiness, but still need to be cautious when driving and operating machinery requires alertness.
Drug interaction
erythromycin and ketoconazole increases the concentration of fexofenadin in plasma but does not change about 27. Fexofenadin concentration may be increased by erythromycin, ketoconazole, verapamil, p-glycoprotein inhibitors.
Not used simultaneously with antacids containing aluminum, magnesi because it will reduce the absorption of fexofenadin.
Fexofenadin may increase alcohol concentration, TKTW sedatives, cholinergic substances.
Fexofenadin may reduce the concentration of acetylcholininesterase (in TKTW), Betalistin.
Fexoferladin may be concentrated by tu III concentration by acetylcholininininiserase inhibitors (in TKTW), Xiphetamine, anti -acid agents, grapefruit juice, rifampin.
Cavalry: Fruit juice (oranges, grapefruit, apples) can reduce the bioavailability of fexofenadin by 36%. Avoid using fexofenadin with ethylic alcohol (alcohol) because it increases the risk of sedation (sleep).
Storage
Leave a cool place, avoid light, temperature below 30⁰C.
