indications
Ferlatum fol Italfarmo box of 10 vials is indicated in the following cases:
Pharmacology
ferlatum fol is a combination of folinic acid and iron -protein complex, obtained from the process of milk protein chemicals, containing 5% + 0.2% valence iron III. Thanks to the soluble properties, Succinylate protein precipitates in the environment of stomach acid still connected to iron ions. Iron dissolves in an alkaline environment in the duodenum, allowing iron absorption through the intestinal mucosa, while the protein of the molecule is digested by the protease of the pancreatic fluid.
Folinic acid (Leucovorin, Citrovorum Factor) is a biological activity of folic acid, which is the activity of a real vitamin. Using folat form folinic acid helps avoid a few metabolic steps and helps replenish the deficiency of vitamins even though the deficiency of liver and intestines to convert folic acid into a biological activity.
Folinic acid plays an important role in purin and pyriminidine synthesis and is inevitably necessary for DNA synthesis, especially in hematoma tissues. Folinic acid, in fact, is effective in all cases of anemia due to folat deficiency. Clinical trials show that ferlatum fol is good against anemia.
Dynamic pharmacokinetics
With iron compounds, pharmacokinetics studies are often not useful, because like the case of Succinylate iron compound, the protein is digested by digestive fluid and the iron is absorbed depending on the body needs.
However, the product has been shown to be well absorbed by oral and quickly achieved high blood iron concentrations, but then there was always a stable concentration in the lip balance, even after high doses.
In animals, Succinylate iron complex, which is tested compared to other popular iron compounds, shows better absorption and increases the blood levels in the blood longer.
Under normal conditions, the amount of iron loses is very limited. Most iron is excreted through the menstrual cycle, and a small amount through bile, sweat and skin peeling. By using calcium folinat with 14C and 3H, the result is similar to microbiological quantitative results. Folinic acid used orally absorbed quickly, leading to rapid increase in folat concentration in the blood.
Before taking Ferlatum Fol Italfarmco solution (10 vials)
How to useFerlatum fol drugs for oral use.
Dosage
Adults
Take 1-2 vials/day, according to the guidance of the treating doctor, preferably taking medicine before meals.
Children
Take 1.5 mg/kg/day, according to the doctor's instructions, it is best to take the medicine before meals.
Treatment time: Continuous treatment until iron reserves in the body return to normal level (usually 2-3 months).
Maximum dose of the day: Clinical studies on the effectiveness and tolerance of Ferlatum drugs have been conducted with the above doses (adults: 80 mg of iron/day, children: 4 mg of iron/day). There is no data on tolerance and clinical effectiveness of ferlatum drugs for larger doses.
Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist.
What to do when overdose?
It is necessary to treat as soon as possible and accompanied by anti -vomiting drugs, gastrointestinal and supportive treatment.
Moreover, a chelate complex substance should be used with iron like Desferixamin.
In an emergency, call the 115 emergency center immediately or go to the nearest local health station.
What to do when forgetting a dose? However, if the time to relax with the next dose is too short, skip the dose and continue the calendar of the drug. Do not use double dose to compensate for missed dose.
Side Effects
When using Ferlatum Fol, you may experience unwanted effects (ADR) such as:
Iron -containing preparations can be black or dark gray.
Follow the instructions in the drug's instruction sheet to reduce the risk of side effects.
Notify the doctor with unwanted effects when using Ferlatum.
Warnings
Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.
contraindicated
Ferlatum fol drugs are contraindicated in the following cases:
Hemosiderin infection, iron tissue infection, giant red blood cell anemia or anemia due to iron defects (anemia due to loss of iron function).
Be cautious when using
drugs do not cause familiar risk or dependence. However, do not take the drug for more than 6 months when the bleeding lasts long, multi -menstruation or pregnancy.
Note: The cause of iron deficiency or anemia should be determined. Besides treatment with iron, begins to treat the cause of the disease, if possible.
Be cautious when taking drugs for patients with non -tolerated milk protein, allergic reactions may occur in these patients.
Single dose of ferlatum fol contains sorbitol. Therefore, this medication should not be used for patients with rare genetic diseases, which are fructose intolerance.
Single dose of ferlatum contains parabens (methyl para salt - Hydroxybenzoate sodium, Propyl para salt - Hydroxybenzoate sodium), substances that can cause slow hypersensitivity reactions.
ferlatum fol can affect blood search results in the stool.
The ability to drive and operate machinery
The drug does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
During pregnancy and lactation
There are no special recommendations when used for pregnant and lactating women. Ferlatum fol is designated for iron deficiency treatment that can occur during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Drug interaction
iron can reduce the absorption or bioavailability of tetracyclin, bisphosphonate, quinolone, penicillamin, thyroxin, levidopa, carbidopa, alpha - methyldopa. Ferlatum fol should be taken at least 2 hours away from these drugs. Iron absorption can be increased when used simultaneously with 200 mg of ascorbic acid or absorption can be reduced when used simultaneously with antacids.
chloramphenicol can slow down the response to the treatment regime with iron (with iron preparations).
There are no interactions reported when used simultaneously with H2 receptor blockers.
Chelate complex agents with iron (such as phosphate, phytat, oxalate) found in vegetables and milk, coffee and tea, prevent iron absorption. So Ferlatum Fol for at least 2 hours after using these foods.
Some anti -cancer and leukemia agents (aminopterin, methotrexate and other pterinic derivatives) are antagonists competing with folat.
Therefore, if there are tumors or leukemia being treated with folic resistance agents, it is advisable to avoid using ferlatum fol and other preparations containing folic or folinic acid.
Moreover, avoid simultaneous use of this preparation with antibiotics (sulfonamid, trimethoprim), the effect of these antibiotics may be reduced.
Storage
Leave a cool place, avoid light, temperatures below 30⁰C. To be out of reach of children.
Read the instructions carefully before use. This drug is only used as prescribed by a doctor.
