Uses
Indications
Inflammation response to steroids in eyelid inflammation and eye conjunctivitis, keratitis and semi -eliminating eyeballs.
Pharmacokology
Fluorometholon inhibits inflammatory response caused by mechanical, chemical and immunosuppressants. There is no official explanation of the acting mechanism of these steroids.
However, corticosteroids are thought to be impacted through the phospholipase A2 induction inhibiting protein, collectively referred to as lipocortin. It has been acknowledged that these proteins control the biosynthesis of intermediate substances of inflammatory response such as prostaglandin and leukotrien by inhibiting their release of Arachidonic acid.
Arachidonic acid is released by phospholipase A2 from phospholipid membranes. Adrenocorticosteroids and their derivatives are likely to cause glaucoma. In clinical studies on the eyes of patients treated with both dexamethason and fluorometholon, fluorometholon shows a tendency to increase lower glaucoma than dexamethasone.
pharmacokinetics
used on the spot of fluorometholon 0.1% tritium -mounted, which increases the peak radioactive level in a hydraulet after 30 minutes. The high concentration of rapid metabolites has been found both in aquatic fluid and corneal extract, which shows that fluorometholon has a change in metabolism because it penetrates into the cornea and aquatic fluid.

Although the whole body effect is extremely uncommon, there have been cases of increased blood hormone secretion of the whole body rare after using steroids on the spot.

The following adverse reactions have been determined during the use of FML after -sales. Because these reactions are voluntarily reported and from a group of unknown scale population, indefinite estimates of the frequency of these reactions.
Testing: glaucoma.
Eye disorders: eye irritation, conjunctival/eye congestion, eye pain, visual disorders , feeling of exoticity in the eyes, eyelid edema, blurred vision, eye secretion, itchy eye, weather, eye swelling/swelling, pupils, cataracts (including under baggage), Eye infections Market, spotted keratitis, eyelid redness (only for ointment).
immune system disorders: hypersensitivity.
Nervous system disorders: taste disorders.
Skin and subcutaneous disorders: rash.
Warnings
Contraindicated
Do not use FML drugs in the following cases:
Eye fungal diseases.
Seasonal beans, chickenpox and most other virus infections of the cornea and conjunctiva.
Precautions when using
Warning
very careful when using corticosteroids for patients with a history of herpes simplex.
The prolonged use can be the cause of glaucoma in some sensitive individuals leading to glaucoma disease, rarely damage to the optic nerve, vision and market defects, forming cataracts under later and slowly healing wounds; Or may cause secondary eye infections caused by fungi or viruses from the eye tissue.Be careful when using steroids when the presence of glaucoma disease should be checked for regular pressure. The eye drops should not be used with corticosteroids for more than 10 days, except under strict eye monitoring and regular persistent inspection.
Many eye diseases and prolonged use of corticosteroids are considered to be the cause of thinning cornea and fracture. Using corticosteroids in thin cornea and edges can lead to perforation.
In untreated eye -infections, steroids can cover or increase infection.
Use in children
The safety and effectiveness of the drug has not been shown in children 2 years old or younger.
Used in the elderly
Not observing the overall difference in safety or effectiveness between elderly patients and younger patients.
Caution
The long -term use can also inhibit the host's immune response and thus increase the risk of secondary eye infections. Because there is a coincidence of the contaminated cornea when using an external steroid for a long time, it is recommended to prevent the spread of mushrooms in persistent corneal ulcer that has been or being treated with steroids. Mushroom transplant should be performed.Should regularly check the label.
Use of internal steroids can extend the treatment process and can worsen the severity of many viral infections in the eye (including Herpes Simplex ). It is necessary to be very cautious when using corticosteroid medicine for patients with a history of herpes simplex infection; Recommendation should regularly scan the slot light.
Use with contact lenses: Benzalkonium chloride preservatives in FML can be absorbed and changed the color of soft contact lenses. It is necessary to guide patients with soft contact lenses to remove contact lenses before using this solution and wait at least 15 minutes after fmm before bringing soft disinfectant.
The ability to damage eye and contamination: To prevent eye damage or contamination, be cautious to avoid the head of the vial or the tube of the eye touching the eye or any other surface. The use of medicine or tube more than one person can spread infection. Keep the vial or tube of medicine closed when not in use. To be out of reach of children.
The ability to drive and operate machinery
as well as any eye treatment, if the glimpse occurs when the eye is small, the patient should wait until the vision is clear before driving or using machines.
Pregnancy and lactation
Pregnancy
There is no complete and well -controlled research in pregnant women. The use of corticosteroids for pregnant animals has been involved in abnormalities of pregnancy development.
Fluorometholon has been shown to kill the embryo, toxic to the fetus and cause teratogenicity in the rabbit when used by small eyes. FML should only be used cautiously during pregnancy if the benefit may have for mothers who are higher than the risk that may occur for fetuses.
Breastfeeding period
It is unclear whether the use of small eye corticosteroids can lead to adequate body absorption to create the amount of drugs that can be detected in breast milk. Corticosteroids use the whole body to appear in breast milk and can inhibit growth, hinder endogenous corticosteroid production or cause other undesirable effects.Because of the likelihood of serious adverse reactions caused by Fluorometholon in breastfeeding, it is necessary to decide to stop breastfeeding or stop taking the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug for the mother.
Drug interaction
unknown.
Storage
Store at temperatures from 15 - 25 degrees C. Keep the vial in a vertical position, avoid freezing.
