Uses

Indications

The drug is indicated in the following cases:

  • Lack of carbon and fluid deficiency. Blood glucose and must be accompanied by continuous insulin transmission). Under glucose physiological conditions, carbohydrates provide the most important energy with calories of 17 kJ/kg or 4 kcal/g, in adults, normal glucose concentration in the blood is reported of 60 - 100 mg/100 ml, or 3.3 - 5.6 mmol/l (when hungry).

Disorders using glucose (glucose intolerance) may occur under pathological metabolism. These cases are mainly diabetes and metabolic stress (for example, during and after surgery, serious illness, trauma), decrease in glucose absorption due to hormones, which can even cause hyperglycemia without external supply. Hyperglycemia - depending on its severity - can lead to the loss of the kidneys according to osmotic pressure and lead to dehydration, disorders due to osmotic pressure increased and can lead to coma due to osmotic pressure.

    pharmacokinetics

When the first transmission glucose will enter the circuit and then enter the intracellular.

During glucose hydrolysis is converted into pyruvat or lactat. Lactat can be partially put into glucose conversion (Cori ring).

In Pyruvat gas, fully oxidized into carbon dioxid and water. The final product of completely oxidation glucose is excreted in the lungs (carbon dioxid) and the kidney (water).

    How to use

Glucose 10% 500 ml is intravenously.

    Dosage

    Adults

Depending on the needs of patients: maximum 30 ml/kg body weight/day.

    Transmission speed: maximum 0.8 drops/kg body weight/minute = 2.5 ml/kg body weight/hour.

    Children

    Average demand/kilogram of body weight/day:

First year of age: 8 - 15g glucose.

    The second year: 12 - 15g glucose.

    5 years old - 5: 12g glucose.

    year 6 - 10: 10g glucose.

    Transmission speed: maximum 120 drops/kg body weight/hour.

Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist.

    What to do when overdose?

    Symptoms

Overdose can lead to water retention, electrolyte imbalance and alkaline imbalance, hyperglycemia and serum osmotic pressure (leading to coma due to hyperglycemia, osmotic pressure).

    Emergency treatment, detoxification

depends on the type and severity of the disorders.

Stop transmission, supplement electrolytes, diuretics or insulin.

In an emergency, call the 115 emergency center immediately or go to the nearest local health station.

What to do when forgetting a dose? However, if the time to relax with the next dose is too short, skip the dose and continue the calendar of the drug. Do not use double dose to compensate for missed dose.

    Side Effects

When using the drug, you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).

There may be a phenomenon of hyperglycemia and kidney loss in case of decrease in glucose tolerance. Normally can prevent the above phenomena by reducing the dose and/or insulin injection. If the dose is exceeded the prescribed dose, the concentration of bilirubin and lactate may increase.

    Common (ADR> 1/100)

  • Pain in the spot intravenously, vascular irritation, intravenous inflammation, necrosis of the store if the drug is released out of the pulse.
  • Water and electrolyte disorders (hypoglyc sodium, hypoglycemia, hypoglycemia).
  • Rare (ADR Dehydration as a result of high blood glucose (when prolonged transmission or rapid fruits of hypertonic solutions).

Notify the doctor with unwanted effects when using the drug.

    Warnings

Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.

    Contraindicated

    Contraindications in the following cases:

    Diabetes (except for blood glucose).

    Glucose intolerance.

The situation of dehydration is weak if the amount of electrolytes is lacking.

    Water excess.

    Hemoto hypotension.

    Increase coma. Acidic infection.

    impurment.

Bleeding in the skull or in the spinal cord.

Saturated wine accompanied by dehydration, alcohol poisoning.

    Patients after stroke.

    Caution when using

balanced glucose-glucose, electrolytes and water should be monitored regularly. The electrolytes should be supplemented for sufficient needs. The compatibility of any substance adds to the above solutions should be checked before use.

Do not transmit glucose solution through the transmission line that has been suspected to have been used for blood transfusion because of the risk of fake connection.

Glucose transfusion into a vein can lead to epidemic and electrolytes such as hypotension, hypoglycemia, blood phosphorus.

Prolonged or fast transmission of 10% glucose solution may cause cell dehydration due to increased blood glucose. Do not transmit solution to patients with dehydration because dehydration will worsen due to osmotic gums.

Be cautious when used for patients with diabetes (rapid transmission can lead to hyperlemia), patients with malnutrition, amino deficiency, glucose intolerance, shocking patients, bacterial infections, trauma.

The ability to drive and operate machinery

    unknown.

    Pregnancy and nursing mothers

Quickly transmit solution containing 25g of glucose or more leading to acidosis for the fetus and increased blood insulin, reducing blood glucose and jaundice. Therefore, it is recommended to limit the transmission, not exceeding 6g of glucose in 1 hour right before birth, until the safety transmission speed is set.

    Drug interaction

    unknown.

    Cavalry

Before adding any drug to the glucose solution to transfer, it must be checked to see if it is appropriate. The solution contains glucose and has a pH

    Storage

Leave a cool place, avoid light, temperature below 30⁰C.

To be out of reach of children.

Each bottle is only used once. The non -use part must be canceled. Aseptic solution, no fever.

Do not use if the bottle is leaked or the solution is not transparent.
