griseofulvin is an antifungal antibiotic, created from penicillium griseofulvum or from other penicillium. Griseofulvin's antifungal effect is firstly due to breaking the cellular structure of cell division, which should stop the middle phase of the cell. Another mechanism of action also mentioned is that Griseofulvin creates a defect DNA that is not capable of copying. Griseofulvin deposited into pre -Keratin cells to create an unfavorable environment for mushrooms to invade. Skin, hair and nails infected will be replaced by non -fungal tissues.

Griseofulvin inhibits the development of Trichophyton leather fungi (especially T. RUBRUM, T. tonsurans, T. Mentagrophytes, T. Verrucosum, T. Meginii, T. Gallinae and T. Schoeninii), Microsporum (such as M. Audouinii, M. Canis, M. Gypseum) and EpidermophytontonTon floccosum.
