Pharmacokic
Haloperidol is a neurolithic drug of Butyrophenon group. Haloperidol has the same effect on the central nervous system such as chlorpromazin and other phenothiazin derivatives, antagonistic in dopamine receptors but this dopamine resistance is generally increased by Haloperidol. Haloperidol has a very strong anti -vomiting effect, which works on the foreign system.
Haloperidol has very little effect on the sympathetic nervous system, at normal doses, has no anti -Adrenalin as well as cholin resistance, because the structure of Haloperidol is almost like gamma - amino - butyric acid. Haloperidol has no antihistamine effect, but has a strong effect like papaverin on plain muscle.
pharmacokinetic
After drinking, Haloperidol is absorbed from 60 - 70% in the digestive tract. The peak concentration of plasma is achieved after taking medicine for 4 to 6 hours. Haloperidol has 24 -hour disposal time and equilibrium achieved after about 1 week. Haloperidol metabolizes mainly through the cytochrom P450 of the liver microsom, mainly by reducing oxidation alkyl, so there is an interaction when Haloperidol is treated simultaneously with induction drugs or inhibiting liver oxygen enzymes in the liver.
Haloperidol excreted 20% and urine about 33%. Only 1% of the drug is excreted through the kidneys in the form of no metabolic. Metabolic substances have no pharmacological effects.
