indications

Hapenxin is indicated in the following cases:

  • Treatment in cases of bacterial infections caused by sensitive bacteria, do not indicate severe infection treatment. Replace Penicillin for preventive treatment for patients with heart disease to treat tooth.

Cephalexin is sustainable with staphylococcus penicilinase, so the drug works with staphylococcus aureus strains of penicillin -resistant penicillin (or ampicillin). Cephalexin has the effect of printing vitro on the following bacteria: Streptococcus beta blood-soluble, staphyloccus, including coagulase strains (+), coagulase (-) and penicilinase; Streptococcus pneumoniae; Some Escherichia Coli, Proteus Mirabilis; Some Klebsiella spp. Branhamella Carratrhalis; Shigella, Haemophilus Influenza often decreases sensitivity. Cephalexin also works on the majority of ampicillin -resistant e.coli.

Most of the Enterococcus strains (Streptococcus Faecalis) and some staphylococcus strains are resistant to cephalexin. Proteus indol is positive, some Enterobacter spp., Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Bacteroides spp. When testing in vitro, Staphylococcus shows cross -resistance between cephalexin and methicilin antibiotics.

Currently, there are many strains of resistance to cephalexin, so when used, it is necessary to pay attention to local resistance.

    pharmacokinetics

cephalexin is almost completely absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and reaching the peak concentration of plasma at about 18mcg/ml after an hour with a dose of oral 500mg. 15% of cephalexin dose cohesion to plasma proteins.

Sell waste time is 0.5 - 1.2 hours but longer in infants (5 hours) and increase when kidney function decreases. Cephalexin passes through the placenta and excretes breast milk with low concentrations. About 80% of the dosage excreted urine in the form of unchanged, so Cephalexin is also used to prevent recurrent urinary tract infections.

When using Hapenxin, you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).

    Common, ADR> 1/100

  • Diarrhea, nausea.
  • Uncommon, 1/1000

  • Eosin leukemia. Rash, urticaria, itching. Increase liver transaminase recovery.
  • Rare

  • Sensitive to cephalosporin.

  • Be cautious when using

cephalexin is usually well tolerated even in patients with penicillin allergies, but there are also very few cross -allergens.

Using long -term cephalexin can cause excessive growth of uncertainty bacteria (e.g. Candida, Enterococcus, Clostridium dificile), in this case, stop the drug. There has been a notice of fake colitis when using broad -spectrum antibiotics, paying attention to the diagnosis of this disease in people with severe diarrhea during or after antibiotic use.

Must reduce the dose when kidney failure. Cephalexin can cause false positive when testing the urinary glucose with Benedict solution, fehling or clinitest tablets; It may be positive for Coombs and affect the quantitative creatinine with alkaline picrat.

The ability to drive and operate machinery

rarely affects the ability to drive and operate machinery.

    Pregnancy

There has been no signs of toxicity for pregnancy and monitoring. However, only cephalexin should only be used for pregnant people.

Cephalexin concentration in breast milk is very low but should still consider stopping breastfeeding during the time the mother takes medication.

    Medicinal interaction

Concomitant treatment of high doses of cephalosporin and amiglycosides or with strong diuretics that can harm the kidney function. Probenecid can increase and prolong plasma concentrations and toxicity of cephalosporin.
