Uses

Indications

Hapenxin Capsules 500mg is indicated in the following cases:

Cephalexin is indicated in cases of bacterial infections caused by sensitive bacteria, not indicated to treat severe bacterial infections.

  • Respiratory infections, Ear tats: sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, tooth infection, especially in the pharyngeal infection due to streptococci.
  • Skin infection, soft tissue and bone.

  • Urinary tract infection - genital: cystitis, gonorrhea (when using inappropriate penicillin).
  • Preventive: recurrent urinary tract infections. Replace penicillin treatment for patients with heart disease must be treated.
  • Pharmacology

Hapenxin with the main active ingredient is Cephalexin, antibiotic Cephalosporin group 1, has bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial cell synthesis. Cephalexin is sustainable with staphylococcus penicilinase, so the drug works for staphylococcus aureus strains of penicillin -resistant penicillin (or ampicilin).

Cephalexin has the effect of printing in vitro on the following bacteria: Streptococcus beta blood-soluble, staphylococcus, including coagulase strains (+), coagulase (-) and penicilinase; Streptococcus pneumoniae; Some Escherichia Coli, Proteus Mirabilis; Some Klebsiella spp. Branhamella catrhalis; Shigella. Haemophilus Influenzae often reduces sensitivity. Cephalexin also works on the majority of ampicillin -resistant e.coli.

Most Enterococcus strains (Streptococcus Faecalis) and a few staphylococcus strains are resistant to cephalexin. Proteus indol is positive, some Enterobacter spp., Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Bacteroides spp. When testing in vitro, Staphylococcus shows cross -resistance between cephalexin and methicilin antibiotics.

Currently, there have been many resistance strains with cephalexin, so when used, attention should be paid to local resistance.

    Dynamic pharmacokinetics

cephalexin are almost completely absorbed in the digestive tract and reach the peak concentration in plasma at about 18 mcg/ml after an hour with oral dose of 500 mg. 15% of cephalexin dose connects to plasma proteins. The sale time is 0.5 -1.2 hours but longer in infants (5 hours) and increases when the kidney function decreases.

cephalexin passes the placenta and excreted breast milk with low concentrations. About 80% of the dosage excreted urine in the form of unchanged, so Cephalexin is also used to prevent recurrent urinary tract infections.

Before taking Hapenxin Capsules DHG treats infections (100 tablets)

    How to use

oral medication, before meals. Need to use the medication according to the procedure. Treatment time should last at least 7-10 days.

    Dosage

With gonorrhea, the single dose is usually 3 g with 1 g of problemecid for men or 2 g with 0.5 g of probenecid for women.

Adjust the dose when kidney failure:

  • Creatinine clearance ≥ 50 ml/min, serum creatinine ≤ 132 micromol/l, maintenance dose up to 1 g, 4 times in 24 hours.
  • Creatinine clearance 49 - 20 ml/min, serum creatinine 133 - 295 micromol/l, maintenance dose maximum 1 g, 3 times in 24 hours.
  • Creatinine clearance 19 - 10 ml/min, serum creatinine 296 - 470 micromol/l, maintenance dose up to 500 mg, 3 times in 24 hours.
  • Creatinine clearance ≤ 10 ml/min, serum creatinine ≥ 471 micromol/l, maintenance dose up to 250 mg, 2 times for 24 hours.

or as directed by the physician.

Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist. What to do when overdose?

How to handle: Protect the respiratory tract of patients, support ventilation and infusion. Give activated carbon many times instead or add to gastric lavage. Need to protect the respiratory tract of the patient while gastrointestinal or active carbon.

What to do when you forget a dose? However, if close to the next dose, skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the time as planned. Note that it should not be used double the prescribed dose.

    contraindicated

Hapenxin Capsules 500mg contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Sensitive to cephalosporin. There is a history of anaphylaxis due to penicillin or other severe reactions through IgE.
  • Be cautious when using

cephalexin is usually well tolerated even in patients with allergies to penicillin, but there are also very few cross -allergies.

Using long -term cephalexin can cause excessive growth of uncertainty bacteria (for example, Candida, Enterococcus, Clostridium difficile), in this case, stop the drug. There has been a notice of fake colitis when using broad spectrum antibiotics, paying attention to the diagnosis of this disease in patients with severe diarrhea during or after antibiotic use.

Must reduce the dose when kidney failure. Cephalexin can cause false positive when testing the urinary glucose with Benedict solution, fehling or clinitest tablets; It may be positive for Coombs and affect the quantitative creatinine with alkaline picrat.

The ability to drive and operate machinery

rarely affects the ability to drive and operate machinery.

    Pregnancy

has not seen signs of toxicity for pregnancy and teratogenicity. However, only cephalexin should only be used for pregnant people.

    Breastfeeding period

Cephalexin concentration in breast milk is very low but should still consider stopping breastfeeding during the time the mother takes medication.

    Drug interaction

Concomitant treatment of high doses of cephalosporin and aminoglycosides or with strong diuretics that can cause kidney function. Cephalexin reduces the effect of estrogen. Cholestyramin is attached to cephalexin in the intestine to slow their absorption. Probenecid increases serum levels and increases the selling time of cephalexin.

Use a combination of cephalosporin drugs and oral anticoagulants that can extend prothrombin time. Potential side effects may occur when simultaneously used Cephalexin and Metformin, so monitor and adjust the dose of metformin.

    Storage

In a dry place, the temperature does not exceed 30 ° C, avoiding light.
