Uses

indications

Mepraz® drugs are indicated in the following cases:

  • Short -term treatment of progressive duodenal ulcer (should not use Mepraz® to treat patients with duodenal ulcer).

    Mechanism of action

Mepraz® is a new anti -secreting group, it inhibits the enzyme H+/K+ atpase (proton pump) of the stomach lining cells. The mechanism of action of Mepraz® is different from cholinergic anti -anti -antihistamine drugs. Mepraz® is combined with the H+/K+ ATPASE enzyme system and inhibits the final stage of the acid process. This effect leads to inhibition of basic acid secretion and acid secretion due to stimulation, any origin.

    Antibiotics

After taking the drug, the anti -secreting effect of Mepraz® occurs within 1 hour, reaching the maximum after 2 hours. After 24 hours, the inhibition of acid secretion remains at 50% compared to the maximum level and the inhibitory time lasts up to 72 hours. This effect is much longer if it comes to the relationship with a very short selling time (less than 1 hour), due to the long combination with the H+/K+ ATPASE enzyme system in the stomach wall.

When stopping the drug, the anti -secretion effect decreases slowly after 3-5 days. Mepraz®'s inhibitory effect on acid secretion increases with the only dose of every day and reaches a constant level after 4 days.

    Pharmacokinetics

    absorption

Omeprazole is quickly absorbed with peak plasma concentrations reached in the range of 0.5 - 3.5 hours. The peak and AUC concentration is proportional to the dose of up to 40 mg. Absolute bioavailability of about 30-40% at a dose of 20-40 mg due to the majority of drugs that have been metabolized before. In healthy people, the sale time in plasma is about 0.5 - 1 hour, the total clearance of the body is 500 - 600 ml/min.

    Distribution

drugs associated with plasma protein about 95%.

    Metabolism

Omeprazole is strongly metabolized through the cytochrome p450 enzyme system.

    Elimination

About 77% of the dose is eliminated in the urine in the form of metabolites, the rest is excreted through urine in the form of non -metabolic.
