l-Ornithin-l-play shows the in vivo activity in the form of two amino acids, ornithin and aspartic acid with two main liver detoxification mechanisms: Urea synthesizing and glutamine synthesis. The synthesis of urea takes place in liver cells around the portal vein, where ornithin acts as active substances of the two enzymes ornithin carbamoyltransferase and carbamoyl phosphate synthetase as well as the substrate of the Urian synthesis.
