Indications

HEPEVEREX® is indicated in the following cases:

  • Simultaneous treatment of diseases or complications due to the decline in liver detoxification (e.g. cirrhosis) with symptoms of clear or potential or non -potentially hyperglycemia in the blood ammonia. liver.

L-Ornithin-L-Aspartat is a combination of two amino acids that play an important role in the metabolic cycle in the liver. The activity of L-Ornithin-L-Aspartat in the body through the amino acids L-Ornithin and L-Aspartat with two paths of ammonia detoxification: Urea and glutamine synthesis.

The synthesis of urea takes place in liver cells around the door. In these cells, Ornithin is both the active substance of two enzymes ornithin carbamoyl transferase and carbamoyl phosphate synthetase and a substrate for urea synthesis.

Glutamine synthesis is taken place in liver cells around the vein. Under special pathological conditions, aspartat and other dicarboxylate, including ornithin metabolic products, are put into cells used in the form of glutamin -linked to ammonia.

Physiological and pathological, glutamate as amino acid bonding substance with ammonia, this is not only a non -toxic form of ammonia excretion, but also activating important urea cycles (inter -cell glutamine exchange).

In physiological conditions, Ornithin and asparrtat are unlimited for urea synthesis.

Research on animals shows that the increase in glutamin synthesis is an effective mechanism of ammonia decrease.

Some clinical studies show that there is an improvement in the ratio of amino acids in the form of branches and ring forms.

    pharmacokinetics

L-Ornithin-L-Aspartat is quickly absorbed and separated into L-Ornithin and L-ASPartat. The absolute oral bioavailability of L-Ornithin-L-Aspartat is about 80%. The sale time of both amino acids is short from 0.3 to 0.4 hours.

A part of L-Aspartat is also found in urine in the form of unprocessed.
