Uses

indications

Kalyum 600mg drug is indicated in the following cases:

Prevention and/or treatment of hypokalemia due to various conditions and conditions such as vomiting, diarrhea, adrenal glands increase activity, increase potassium elimination in the kidneys, use diuretics to lose salt or corticosteroids.

Pharmacological

Potassium is the main intracellular cation of most tissues in the body. Potassium ions play an important role in some basic physiological processes, including the maintenance of intracellular tone, the spread and transmission of nerve impulses through the cylinder, the heart muscle contraction, skeletal and smooth muscle, maintaining the normal activity of the kidney. Potassium also plays an important role in the process of balancing acid -base metabolism.

In normal physiological conditions, the amount of potassium put into the body daily through food is complete. However, there may be a lack of potassium when the potassium rate is gone through the kidneys, sweat and/or digestive tract more than the body's speed. The decrease in potassium potassium may also be due to the potassium redistribution from the extracellular compartment into the cell due to the factors that increase the absorption of potassium into the cell (such as insulin, metabolic alkaline infection, the release of beta - adrenalin).

This deficiency may also be due to other conditions and conditions such as severe diarrhea, vomiting, increased primary or secondary aldosteron, meton acidosis in diabetes, insufficient potassium supplements in patients who have been nourished for a long time through infusion, diuretic use of salt loss or corticosteroids. Loss of potassium in this case is often accompanied by a deficiency of chloride and shows signs of hypokalemia and metabolic alkali infection.

Potassium loss can cause weakness, fatigue, arrhythmia, abnormalities in the electrocardiogram, and in severe cases, paralysis and/or reducing the possibility of concentrating urine. Loss of potassium accompanied by metabolic alkaline contamination is treated by treating basic causes of potassium and potassium chloride supplements in the form of foods high in potassium or solution, capsule, potassium chloride tablets.

The right dose can help maintain the appropriate potassium level inside and outside the cell. In In vitro testing, the completely dissolved active ingredient takes 24 hours.

Dynamic pharmacokinetics

potassium chloride is easily absorbed in the digestive tract. The active ingredient of the slow -release capsule kalyum is attached to small particles to prolong the release. After the capsule disintegrates, small particles are dispersed and released the active ingredient gradually when passing through the digestive tract. The above two factors will prevent potassium chloride from reaching very high levels and thus reducing side effects in the digestive system.

Potassium is excreted mainly in the kidneys thanks to the exchange of sodium - potassium in the distance. Potassium preserving capacity of the kidneys is poor, potassium is still eliminated in the urine, although the body is lacking. The excretion of potassium in the kidneys is affected by many factors, including Cl- ion concentration, H+ion exchange, acid -base balance, and endocrine hormones of the adrenal gland. A little potassium is eliminated in feces and a small amount can be discharged in saliva, sweat, bile and pancreatic juice.

Before taking Kalyum 600mg Egis Pharma medicine prevents and treats hypokalemia (50 tablets)

How to use

Take oral use. Drink whole tablet with a full glass of water, during or after meals.

doses> 2 capsules/day are divided into 2 or more times to drink.

Dosage

Dosage must be determined according to the needs of each individual.

The usual dosage in adults is 2-3 tablets/day to prevent hypokalemia and 5-12 tablets/day for treatment of hypokalemia. Need to regularly check the concentration of potassium in serum.

Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist.

What to do when overdose? When the high potassium concentration has a typical image of the center (high and pointed T wave, concave stitch, P -wave loss, prolonged QT segment, wide QRS complex). To overdose, the stomach can be washed, transmitting salt solution, glucose and insulin or causing a lot of urination. May need peritoneal diagnosis or hemolysis.

What to do when you forget 1 dose? However, if the time to relax with the next dose is too short, skip the dose and continue the calendar of the drug. Do not use double dose to compensate for missed dose.

Side Effects

When using Kalyum 600mg, you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).

Rare, 1/10000

  • Digestive system: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, may experience bleeding, ulcers, obstruction or puncture of the gastrointestinal tract especially when there is the presence of risk factors.
  • Instructions on how to handle ADR

Notify the doctor with unwanted effects when using the drug.

    Warnings

Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.

    contraindicated

Kalyum 600mg drug contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Hyperbonemia
  • Acute renal failure at the stage of urinary minority

  • Animal and urea
  • Chronic kidney failure at the stage of holding urea
  • Addison disease is not treated
  • Loss of country
  • Digestive function is slow due to mechanical origin or function (such as the esophagus is pinched, slow speed of stomach empty, intestinal obstruction, pyloric stenosis)
  • Be cautious when using

should check the potassium concentration in serum regularly and occasionally measure the electrocardiogram during treatment, especially in patients with cardiovascular and kidney disease.

Be cautious when using Kalyum 600mg for patients who are or have a history of stomach - intestinal ulcer.

Need to be cautious and monitor when suddenly stopping Kalyum 600mg while in use with digitalis, because of the ability to reduce potassium when stopping the drug will increase the toxicity of digitalis.

The ability to drive and operate machinery

The drug does not affect the ability to drive and operate machinery.

    Pregnancy

In pregnant mice when giving potassium chloride at a dose of 10 times the dose of treatment in humans, there is an increase in the rate of pregnancy and slow growth with signs of toxicity in the mother. However, there is no epidemiological research on congenital abnormalities in children when mothers take a large dose of potassium chloride during pregnancy. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the benefits and risks when used for pregnant women.

    The period of breastfeeding

The use of potassium is considered safe during breastfeeding. Ordinary human milk has little potassium. If the serum potassium concentration is maintained at a physiological level, it is not harmful to the breastfeeding when the mother uses potassium chloride.

    Interactive drugs

Increased risk of hyperboly hyperkalemia when using simultaneously potassium chloride with the following drugs:

  • Potassium -saving diocesia (amilorid)
  • Transfer inhibitors (captopril, enalapril)
  • heparin
  • Beta blockers are not selective
  • Kidney toxic drugs (such as cisplatin, aminoglycosides)

    Cyclosporin high doses

Therefore, when using Kalyum 600mg along with the above drugs, it is necessary to closely monitor the potassium concentration in serum.

Medicines that increase potassium excretion, including thiazid diuretics (hydrochlorothiazid), strap diuretics (Furosemid), corticosteroids, amphotericin B, insulin, antacids, laxatives can reduce potassium levels in serum blood. Therefore, the demand for potassium chloride can increase in patients taking the above drugs, need to closely monitor blood potassium.

Combining Kalyum 600mg with nonsteroidal anti -inflammatory drugs or anti -cholinergic drugs that can increase digestive side effects.

Be careful and closely monitor the concentration of potassium potassium when supplementing potassium in patients being treated with digitalis. Avoid sudden supplementation of potassium because the ability to reduce potassium will increase the toxicity of digitalis.

    Storage

Store drugs at a temperature not exceeding 30 ° C.

To stay safe, stay out of reach of children.
