  • Before taking Levocozate 5mg drug used in the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis, chronic allergy, spontaneous urticaria (10 blisters x 10 tablets)

    How to use

    Levocozate drugs for oral use.

    Dosage

    recommendations 1 time/day.

Adults and children 12 years of age:

recommended dose is 5 mg (1 film cover).

    Elderly:

Recommendations to adjust the dose for elderly people with average to severe renal failure (see the patient with kidney failure).

Children from 6 to 12 years old:

recommended dose is 5 mg (1 film cover).

No dose for children under 6 years old.

    Patients with renal failure:

The distance between doses depends on the kidney function of each person. Refer to the following table and adjust the dose. To use this dose table, it is necessary to evaluate the patient's creatinine clearance (ml/min). Creatinine clearance (ml/min) is calculated from serum creatinine level (mg/dl) according to the following formula:

  • [140 - Age] x Weight (kg)/72 x Creatinin serum (mg/dl) (x 0.85 hills for women)
  • Adjust the dose for patients with renal impairment:

    1 tablet/day Create

No need to adjust the dose in patients with only liver failure. In patients with liver failure and renal failure, recommendations to adjust the dose (see the patient part of the kidney failure).

    Time to use drugs:

Time to use the drug depends on the type of disease and the time of the disease. For seasonal allergies, about 3-6 weeks, the case of pollen allergy in a short time: Using about 1 week is enough. Clinical experience using 5mg of levocetirizin in the form of a film for 6 months. For chronic urticaria and chronic allergic rhinitis, clinical experience used for 1 year for racemic form, and 18 months for patients with allergic dermatitis.

Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist.

    What to do when overdose?

    Symptoms:

Symptoms of levocetirizin overdose are mainly on the central nervous system or anti -cholinergic effect.

Unwanted effects are reported when used at least 5 times the recommended dose: vague, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, pupils, itching, no rest, drowsiness, stunning state, tachycardia, tremor and urinary retention.

    Control overdose:

There is no specific antidote for levocetirizin.

Overdated, symptomatic treatment should be treated and supported. Should consider gastric lavage if new to medication. Levocetirizin is not eliminated by artificial renal dialysis.

In an emergency, call the 115 emergency center immediately or go to the nearest local health station.

What to do when you forget 1 dose? However, if the time to relax with the next dose is too short, skip the dose and continue the calendar of the drug. Do not use double dose to compensate for missed dose.

  • Warnings

Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.

    contraindicated

Levocozate drugs contraindicated in the following cases:

  • levocetirizin is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to levocetirizin or any component of the drug, or any piperazin derivatives.

    Be cautious when using

    Do not overdose recommended.

Do not use levocetirizin for children under 6 years old because the dose in this form of film is not suitable for young children.

In the treatment dose, there is no clinical interaction between levocetirizin and alcohol (blood alcohol concentration is 0.5 g/l). However, be careful if drinking alcohol while using levocetirizin. Caution recommended for patients with epilepsy or patients at risk of convulsions.

Recommendations should be cautious with rare genetic problems such as galactose intolerance.

The effect of the drug on the ability to drive and operate machinery

    unknown effects of the drug.

Use drugs for women during pregnancy and lactation

    Pregnant women:

The safety of this drug for pregnancy has not been set. Therefore, caution should be used in pregnancy and only when the benefits of using drugs are more than the risk of fetal.

    breastfeeding women:

Medicine into breast milk. Be careful in breastfeeding women, and only use when the benefit is more than the mother than the risk of breastfeeding.

    Drug interaction

In vitro data shows that levocetirizin does not have pharmacological interaction through inhibition or induction of drug metabolic enzymes. There are no in vivo studies on interaction between levocetirizin and other drugs. The studies on drug interactions conducted with racemic form are cetirizin.

antipipin, azithromycin, cimetidin, erythromycin, ketoconazole, theophylin, and pseudoephedrin.

The pharmacokinetic interactions that have been conducted on Racemic form are cetirizin showing that cetirizin does not interact with antipipin, pseudoephedrin, erythromycin, azithromycin, ketoconazole, and cimetidine. The clearance of cetirizin is slightly reduced (-16%) when using theophylin dose of 400 mg. Maybe when using theophylin higher doses will have a stronger effect.

    ritonavir

Ritonavir increases the AUC of Cetirizin in plasma about 42%and increases the disposal time (53%), reduces the clearance (29%). The pharmacokinetics of ritonavir does not change when used simultaneously with cetirizin.

  • Storage
