Indications

  • Pharmacology

Lincomycin has anti -bacterial effects such as Clindamycin, but less effective.

The main drug grams of Gram -positive and wide antibacterial spectrum for anaerobic bacteria.

Mechanism of action: Lincomycin, as well as other lincosamids attached to the mini of the part of the bacterial ribosom like macrolids like erythromycin and hinder the first phase of protein synthesis. The main effect of Lincomycin is bacteria, but at high concentrations can kill slowly for sensitive strains.

Effect spectrum: The drug is effective for many Gram -positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, Bacillus Anthracis, Corynebacterium Diphtheriae. However, it does not work with Enterococcus.

Lincomycin has a broad spectrum for gas bacteria. Sensitive Gram -positive gas bacteria include eubacterium, propionibacterium, peptococcus, peptostreptococcus and many strains of Clostridium perfringens and CL. Tetani. With high doses, Lincomycin works for gram -negative bacteria, including Bacferoides spp. The drug also has a few effects on unicellular animals, so it has been tried in the treatment of pneumocystis carinii pneumonia and Toxoplasma infection. The minimum inhibitory concentration of lineomycin for the most sensitive bacteria strains range from 0.05 - 2 micrograms/ml.

    Dynamic pharmacokinetics

Injecting 600 mg intramuscularly reaches the peak of plasma from 8 - 18 micrograms/ml for 30 minutes. Lincomycin's half life is about 5 hours. Lincomycin is distributed into tissues, including bone tissue and fluid but less into the cerebrospinal fluid, although it can be more distributed when the meninges are inflamed. The drug diffuses through the placenta and is found 0.5 - 2.4 micrograms/ml Lincomycin in breast milk. Lincomycin does not remove much from blood through the cup. Lincomycin is partially deducted in the liver and is exported in urine and feces, in the form of unchanged and metabolic form.
