Indications

Lorastad 10 Tab Stella Pharm is indicated in case of reducing symptoms of allergies including rhinitis and chronic urticaria.

Pharmacokic

Loratadin is a 3 -round antihistamine that has a long -term effect with selective antagonistic activity on the H1 receptor at the periphery.

pharmacokinetics

Loratadin is quickly absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract after drinking, the peak concentration of plasma is reached for about 1 hour.

Increased bioavailability and time to reach the peak plasma concentration slowly when shared with food.

Loratadin is metabolized. The main metabolites are desloratadine with effective antihistamine activity. The average disposal time has been reported to Loratadin and Desloratadin, respectively 8.4 and 28 hours. Loratadine binds about 98% of plasma proteins, desloratadine is less cohesive. Loratadine and its metabolites are detected in breast milk, but it does not pass the brain barrier in significant amounts. Most of the drug dose is excreted in urine and feces in the same amount, mainly in the form of metabolites.

Loratadin's distribution does not see significant changes in patients with severe renal impairment and hemorrhage is not a measure of elimination of loraladin or diameters of desloratadin from the body.

Symptomatic treatment and supportive treatment, start immediately and maintain as long as it is necessary.

In case of acute loratadin overdose, empty stomach should be immediately using ipeca syrup. Taking activated carbon after vomiting can effectively prevent Loratadin's absorption. If vomiting is ineffective or contraindicated (such as with a coma, convulsions), it is possible to conduct a stomach rinse with a 0.8% NaCl solution if there is an internal intubation to prevent the inhalation of substances in the stomach. Saline detergents have the effect of quickly diluting the substances contained in the intestine.

Concomitance of Loratadin and erythromycin leads to increased plasma Loratadin levels. AUC (area under the curve of the concentration over time) of loratadin, an average increase of 40% and the AUC of Descarboethoxyloratadin increases an average of 46% compared to the single Loratadin treatment.
