Uses
Indications
LoxFeb is indicated in the following cases:
Antipator of fever and anti -inflammatory in the upper respiratory tract infection (attached or not accompanied by bronchitis).
Pharmacy
Loxoprofen sodium is a nonsteroidal anti -inflammatory drug of the group of phenylpropionic acid with strong peripheral analgesic, antipyretic and anti -inflammatory. The main advantage of sodium Loxoprofen compared to other NSAIDs is because the drug is in the form of precursor, causing less gastrointestinal ulcers. Analgesic, anti -inflammatory and antipyretic properties are 10-20 times stronger than other NSAIDs such as Ketoprofen, Naproxen and Indomethacin.
Anti -inflammatory mechanism is to reduce prostaglandin biosynthesis by inhibiting cyclooxygenase.
After drinking, sodium Loxoprofen is absorbed intact through the digestive tract and quickly converted into active substances, derivative - OH "Trans", has the effect of inhibiting Prostaglandin biosynthesis.
pharmacokinetic
After drinking, Loxoprofen is quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract in the form of constant, less irritating the gastric mucosa, and then quickly converted into active metabolites, derivative - OH.
The peak concentration of Loxoprofen plasma (constant form) and metabolites achieved are after 30 and 50 minutes after drinking. The half -life of both is about 1.25 hours.
In a study of metabolic inhibition with Invitro liver microsome, sodium Loxoprofen does not affect the metabolism of many metabolic drugs by Cytochrome P450, even at a concentration of 10 times larger than the peak concentration in plasma (200 mm).
Plasma protein mounting ratio is about 97.0% for loxoprofen and 92.8% for Trans - OH derivative. The AUC of Loxoprofen is 6.70 + 0.26 mg.h/ml and the trans - OH compound is 2.02 + 0.05 mg/ml.
Loxoprofen is quickly excreted through urine. About 50% of the dose is eliminated after 8 hours, in the form of Loxoprofen, Glucuronate and Trans - OH.
