Uses
Indications
Meloxicam 15 drugs are indicated for treating rheumatoid arthritis, treating short -term symptoms of severe acute osteoarthritis disease and treating spondylitis symptoms. The drug can also be used in spontaneous arthritis in adolescents.
Pharmacokological
Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti -inflammatory (NSAID) of the Oxicam family, with anti -inflammatory, painful and antipyretic properties. Meloxicam's anti -inflammatory activity has been shown on classic forms of inflammation. Like other NSAIDs, the exact mechanism of action has not been well known. However, at least one common mechanism of the NSAID group (including Meloxicam) is to inhibit prostaglandin biosynthesis, known as inflammatory mediators.
pharmacokinetic
Meloxicam is well absorbed after drinking. 99% of the drug is connected to plasma proteins. Meloxicam has the time to sell discharged in plasma for about 20 hours. The drug is metabolized mainly through oxidation and is excreted an equivalent amount through urine and feces, less than 5% of the dose is excreted in a constant form. The distribution volume increases when renal failure.

How to use
used by oral.
Dosage
Rheumatoid arthritis and vertebral stiff inflammation:
Meloxicam is used at a normal single dose of 15 mg/day. People with high risk of side effects should start at a dose of 7.5 mg/day. Long -term treatment in the elderly with a dose of 7.5 mg/day.
Severe acute osteoarthritis:
Meloxicam's daily daily dose is 7.5 mg, if necessary to increase to a maximum single dose of 15 mg/day.Used in kidney failure:
Meloxicam is often contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment. However, in patients with jurors, Meloxicam can be used at a dose of 7.5 mg/day.
Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist.
What to do when overdose? Meloxicam elimination can be accelerated by using 4G cholestyramin orally 3 times/day.
What to do when forgetting 1 dose? However, if the time to relax with the next dose is too short, skip the dose and continue the calendar of the drug. Do not use double dose to compensate for missed dose.

Contraindicated
Meloxicam 15 contraindications in the following cases:
History of urticaria, angioedema, bronchospasm, severe rhinitis, or shock when combined with aspirin or other NSAID drugs. History of sensitive to aspirin, asthma and nasal polyps. Effects on the gastrointestinal tract: The risk of serious effects on the gastrointestinal tract (such as bleeding, ulcers, perforation), may occur at any time or without warning signs and symptoms. High blood pressure: Using NSAID drugs, including meloxicam that can cause high blood pressure onset or worsen existing high blood pressure, this case increases the incidence of cardiovascular disease. Effects on the kidneys: Nephropathy or kidney marrow changes may occur when long -term use NSAID. Hypersensitivity reactions: Hypersensitivity reactions include anaphylactic reaction that may occur in patients who do not have the hypersensitivity to the previous Meloxicam. Serious skin reactions (such as peeling dermatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, epidermal necrosis) can occur in patients using Meloxicam. Hematology effects: Anemia has been reported, mainly occurring in patients using long -term Meloxicam (about 6 months). No specialized research on driving and operating machinery. Avoid drug use in the last 3 months of pregnancy because of the ability to cause early closing the fetal artery. The ability to slow labor when taking the drug at the end of pregnancy. Meioxicam excreted milk in mice, should stop breastfeeding or stop taking the drug because of the dangerous ability to breastfeed. NSAID and acetylsalicylic acid ≥ 3 g/day: Combined with other nonsteroidal anti -inflammatory drugs, including acetylsalicylic acid with anti -inflammatory doses (single dose ≥ 1g or total daily doses ≥ 3g) are not specified. corticosteroids: Be careful when used with corticosteroids because of the increased risk of bleeding or gastric ulcer. Anticoagulant or heparin prescribed for the elderly or at the treatment dose: increases the risk of bleeding, through platelet function inhibits and destroys the gastroenter lining. Diuretics, enzyme inhibitors and Angiotensin II antagonists: NSAID drugs can reduce the effects of diuretics and other anti -hypertension drugs. Other anti -hypertension drugs (such as beta channel blockers): like these drugs, reducing the hypotension effect of beta channel blockers (due to prostaglandin inhibitors with vasodilation effects). Cyclosporin: The kidney toxicity of cyclosporin may increase when using NSAID through the intermediate effect of prostaglandin in the kidney. Lithi: NSAID drugs are reported to increase the concentration of lithium in the blood (through reducing lithium secretion in the kidney), this can lead to toxic threshold. methotrexate: NSAID drugs can reduce the secretion of methotrexate in the renal tubules due to increased methotrexate levels in plasma. Cholestyramin: Cholestyramin increases the elimination of meloxicam by blocking the liver -intestinal cycle, so the clearance of Meloxicam increases by 50% and the selling time decreases to 13 ± 3 hours.
