Pharmacokology
Metronidazole is an antibacterial in the Inidazole group that works against a variety of anaerobic bacteria, including the main bacteria in the lower bacteria system in the lower periodontitis in adults. Metronidazol has bactericidal effect against Bacteroides spp.
There are several anaerobic fermented bacteria such as Actinobacillus Actinomycetemcolmitans sensitive to metrotidazole concentration achieved after applying metrogyl denta. The appearance of metronidazole resistance is rarely reported, and only with high doses after prolonged use. Metronidazole does not make pictures towards the microorganisms.
Dynamic pharmacokinetics
There are no specific studies on pharmacokinetics with metronidazole gel.
With tablets, the half -life after using a single dose is 6 - 7 hours.
Metronidazole is less linked to plasma proteins. It is easy to penetrate into the tissues and the apparent distribution is large equivalent to the distribution of about 70 - 95% of the body mass.
Metronidazole is eliminated in humans mainly through metabolic due to chain oxidation, hydroxylation or conjugated. After 24 hours, the amount of metabolites detected in urine accounts for 35 - 65% of the dose.
