Uses
indications
Montemax 10mg drug is indicated for the following cases:
Pharmacology
Montelukast blocks the cysteinyl leuko-triiene receptors of the respiratory tract, thus inhibiting the bronchial spasm due to inhaled LTD4 substances when asthma. The dose of less than 5 mg has an effect on bronchospasm caused by LTD4. In a diagonal study, the placebo is controlled (n = 12), Montelukast prevents bronchospasm at an early and late stage caused by antigens of 75% and 57% respectively.
The effect of Montemax 10mg on leukemia and EOSIN in peripheral blood has been studied in many clinical trials in asthma patients from 2 years old and older using Montemax. Eosin leukemia in peripheral blood decreased by an average of 9-15% compared to placebo, over time for double blindness. In patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis aged 15 and older using Montemax 10mg, Eosin leukocytes in the peripheral blood increased by an average of 0.2% compared to 12% in placebo patients, over the time of double blindness.
This treatment reflects the average difference of 12.3% in the value of Montemax 10mg. The relationship between these observations and the clinical benefits of Montelukast has been mentioned in unknown clinical studies.
Pharmacokinetics
absorption
Montelukast is quickly absorbed after drinking. In adults, after chewing 5 mg tablets at hunger, the average cmax is achieved within 2 - 2.5 hours. The average bioavailability when drinking at hunger is 73% compared to 63% when taken at the same time with the standard meal in the morning. The safety and effectiveness of Montemax 10 mg chewing tablets in the evening to treat asthma has been confirmed through clinical trials and is not related to meals.
Distribution
over 99% Montelukast is attached to plasma proteins. The stable distribution volume of Montelukast on average 8 - 11 liters. Research on rats with Montelukast is marked with radiation found that the distribution through the brain barrier is very small. In short, the concentration of substances marked radioactive at the time after 24 hours is very small in other tissues.
Metabolism
Montelukast is completely metabolized. In tests at the dose of treatment, Montelukast's metabolic substances are not found in plasma and older patients. In vitro studies use human liver targets that Cytochrome P450 3A4 and 2C9 participated in the metabolism of Montelukast. Clinical studies have detected the effects of known cytochrome P450 3A4 receptors (such as ketoconazole, erythromycin) or 2C9 (such as fluconazole) does not affect Montelukast's kinetic dynamics.
Based on the next in vitro studies on human liver mini, Montelukast's therapeutic concentration in non -inhibited plasma Cytochrome P450 3A4, 2C9, 12, 2A6, 2019 or 2D6. However, In vitro studies have shown that Montelukast is a Cytochrome P450 2C8 inhibitor.
Elimination
Montelukast's plasma clearance average is 45 m/min in healthy adults. After taking a dose of Montelukast is marked with radioactive isotope, 86% of radioactive substances are found in feces for 5 days and
In several tests, Montelukast's average plasma sale time varies from 2.7 to 5.5 hours in healthy young people. The pharmacokinetics of Montelukast almost linear at the dose of up to 50 mg. With a dose of 10 mg, once a day, Montelukast accumulates in negligible plasma (14%).

Inhaled corticosteroids: Montemax treatment provides additional clinical benefits for patients treated with inhaled corticosteroids. The reduction of corticosteroid dose can be done when the patient is tolerated. Should gradually reduce the dose. In some patients, the inhaled corticosteroid dose can be completely reduced. Can not replace immediately corticosteroid inhalation with Montemax.Storage
