Precautions when used
In patients with systemic quinolon, there has been a report on serious hypersensitivity reactions (anaphylaxis) sometimes fatal, some cases after the first dose. A few reactions followed by cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, angioedema (including pharynx, throat or facial edema), trachea obstruction, shortness of breath, urticaria, and itching.
If an allergic reaction to moxifloxacin occurs, stop taking the drug. When there is a serious hypersensitivity reaction due to moxifloxacin or any ingredient of the drug, need emergency treatment. Oxygen and ventilation should be used when clinical indications.
Like other antibiotics, long -term use can cause superinfection of non -sensitive bacteria including fungi. If superinfection occurs, stop taking drugs and apply alternative treatment.
There are very little data on moxifloxacin effectiveness and safety in the treatment of conjunctivitis in infants. Therefore, it is recommended not to use this drug to treat conjunctivitis in infants.
Do not use moxifloxacin treatment or prevent conjunctivitis caused by gonorrhea, including eye disease in newborns due to gonorrhea, caused by Neisseria Gonorrhoeae bacteria resistant to fluoroquinolon antibiotics. Patients with eye infections by Neisseria Gonorrhoeae should take appropriate systemic medication.
It is not recommended to use this medication to treat Chlamydia trachomatis infection for patients under 2 years old because there is no evaluation in these patients. Patients over 2 years of age with eye infections due to Chlamydia Trachomitis should take appropriate systemic medication.
Babies with eye disease should be treated appropriately, for example, using systemic medication in cases of chamydia trachomitis or neisseria gonorrhoeae.
It is recommended that patients should not use contact glass if there are signs and symptoms of eye infections.
Use drugs for women during pregnancy and lactation
Pregnant women
There is no sufficient data on the use of moxifloxacin in pregnant women. However, it can be predicted that the drug does not affect the fetus because the amount of moxifloxacin into the body is negligible. This drug can be used during pregnancy.
breastfeeding women
It is unknown whether moxifloxacin is excreted in breast milk or not. Animal studies show low secretion of milk when taking moxifloxacin. However, it can be predicted that in the treatment dose, moxifloxacin does not affect breastfeeding. This drug can be used in breastfeeding women.
