Uses

epilepsy:

  • Gabapentin is indicated as a single treatment in the treatment of local seizures whether or not there are secondary comprehensiveness in adults and children over 12 years old. The safety and effectiveness of the Gabapentin treatment regimen in children under 12 years of age has not been established. The safety and effectiveness of the treatment regimen using gabapentin in pediatric patients under 3 years of age has not been established.

    Gabapentin is indicated for neurological pain in adults aged 18 and over. Safety and effectiveness of Gabapentin in patients under the age of 18 have not been established.

    Dosage

    In the treatment of epilepsy:

  • for adults and pediatric patients over 12 years old:
  • Clinical experiments show that the effective dose of Gabapentin is from 900 to 3600 mg/day. Can start treatment using 300 mg, 3 times/day on day 1, or by standard doses as described in Table 1. After that, the dose may be increased to a maximum dose of 3600 mg/day divided into 3 times equal. The dose of up to 4800 mg/day has been well tolerated in open and long -term clinical studies. The maximum time between doses in the dose regimen 3 times/day should not exceed 12 hours to avoid outbreaks. Moreover, Gabapentin can be used in combination with other anti -epileptic drugs without having to care about the change of gabapentin concentration or the concentration of other anti -epileptic drugs in plasma.
  • The starting dose is 900 mg/kg divided into 3 small doses and increases if necessary, depending on the response, up to the maximum dose of 3600 mg/day. Treatment should be started by the standard dose as described in Table 1. Blood:

    What to do when you forget 1 dose?

    If you forget to use the medication on time, do not use the dosage at a late day, should continue to use the normal dose the next day in the course.
