Nizoral cream to treat skin fungal infections: Fungal infections in the stem (squint, ringworm), Fungal infections, fungal infections in hands and feet caused by Trichophyton Rugbrum, Trichophyton Mentagrophytes, Microsporum Canis and Epidermophyton Flocosum, treatment of Candida Fungal infections and treatment of skin treatment.

Nizoral ice cream is also indicated in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis - a skin disease associated with the presence of Malassezia Furfur mushrooms.

Pharmacokology

ketoconazole, an Imidazole dioxolant derivative, strong antifungal activity for skin fungi like Trichophyton sp., Epidermophyton Flocosum and Microsporum SP. And for yeasts, including Malassezia spp. and Candida spp. Especially effective on Malassezia spp. Very prominent.

ketoconazole inhibits Ergosterol biosynthesis in mushrooms and changes the structure of other lipid components of the membrane.

Ketoconazole usually works very quickly on itchy symptoms, which are common in skin and yeast fungal infections as well as in skin diseases related to the presence of Malassezia spp.

Symptoms are reduced before seeing the first signs of healing.

Dynamic pharmacokinetics

For adults, after applying 2% nizoral on the skin does not produce a concentration that can be detected in blood. In a study in children with seborrheic dermatitis (n = 19), for about 40g of Nizoral cream per day over 40% of the skin surface area, detects Ketoconazole blood concentration in 5 children, at 32-133 ng/ml.

Clinical safety data

There is no special risk detection for humans based on the results of skin irritation evaluation research, dermatitis and skin toxicity when used repeated.

Acute research on skin and eye irritation with Ketoconazole formula on rabbits shows no skin or eye irritation. The results from a study of skin sensitivity in mice showed that there was no potential for allergies or sensitivity. During the year research on rabbits, Ketoconazole was used for both skin scratched and not scratched at a maximum dose of 40 mg/kg. In a study of some light skin irritation recorded in both ketoconazole and placebo groups, however, in the remaining studies, there is no case of skin reaction or toxic effect. Data from pharmacokinetics studies, some external formulas of ketoconazole under testing conditions in experimental animals, shows no ketoconazole concentration in plasma.
