indications

NYST 25,000 IU is indicated in case of prophylaxis and treatment of oral Candida (deeply):

Pharmacology

Nystatin is a polyene, anti -fungal antibiotic extracted from streptomyces noursei mushroom culture, yellow powder, very little soluble in water. Nystatin has the effect of restraining or eliminating fungi depending on the concentration and sensitivity of the fungus, not affecting the normal bacteria on the body. The most sensitive is yeast and has a very good effect on Candida Albicans. Nystatin does not work with bacteria, protozoa and viruses.

Nystatin has an anti -fungal effect due to the associated with sterols in the fungal cell membrane, changing the permeability and function of the membrane, so potassium and other essential cell components are exhausted. Nystatin tolerates well even when long -term and rare treatment.

When resistant to drugs, nystatin resistant Candida is also resistant to other anti -fungal polygians. Symptoms of candidiasis will decrease within 24 - 72 hours.

Nystatin has anti -superinfection effects on gastrointestinal candidias during antibiotic treatment. The drug is used on the spot, not used to treat the whole body Candida.

Dynamic pharmacokinetics

Nystatin is poorly absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract, not absorbed through the skin or mucosa when used on the spot, excreted mainly in fertilizer in the form of unprocessed.
