Indications

ofloxacin indicated for treatment of infections caused by sensitive bacteria such as:

Severe bronchitis;

pneumonia ; Fluoroquinolon group, with wide antibacterial spectrum including Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Haemophilus Influenzae, Neisseria spp Pneumoniae, Mycobacteriumleprae, Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium spp. other. The mechanism of action is not fully known. Like other antibacterial quinolone drugs, Ofloxacin inhibits DNA - Gyrase is an essential enzyme in the process of duplication, code and repair of DNA of bacteria.

pharmacokinetic

ofloxacin is absorbed quickly and well through the digestive tract. The drug is widely distributed into the body fluid, including cerebrospinal fluid and penetrates well into tissues. Drugs through the placenta and secretion through milk. There is relatively high concentration in bile.

When using single dose, less than 10% ofloxacin is converted into desmethyl - ofloxacin and ofloxacin N -Oxyd. The drug is filtered through the glomerular and excreted through the renal tubules. 75– 80% of the drug is excreted in urine in the form of non -metabolized for 24 to 48 hours, high concentration of drugs in urine. Less than 5% of the drug is excreted in the form of metabolism in urine; 4– 8% of the drug excreted in stool. Only a small amount ofloxacin is discharged by hemolysis.

How to use

Dosage

adults and children ≥ 15 years old

Patients with severe bronchitis, pneumonia, skin infections and soft tissue: Take the dose of 2 tablets at a time, twice a day (12 hours apart), for 10 days.

Urinary tract infections: take 1 tablet each time, twice a day (12 hours apart), for 3-10 days.

Management: Causes vomiting, gastric douching, clinical monitoring and appropriate water compensation measures.

The absorption ofloxacin is not changed by amoxicillin.

The level ofloxacin in serum can decrease below the concentration of treatment when used simultaneously with aluminum acid and magnesium resistance.
