Uses

indications

Pricefil drugs are indicated in the following cases:

Pricefil is indicated for treatment for infected patients caused by sensitive bacterial strains:

  • Upper respiratory tract infections: sore throat, tonsillitis, sinusitis and dacular ear infections.

Should perform sensitive and cultured tests when possible to determine the sensitivity of pathogens.

    Pharmacology

cefprozil is Cephalosporin for the second generation, semi -synthetic, with wide antibacterial spectrum.

    bacteria study

In vitro, Cefprozil has an anti -bacterial and Gram -negative effect.

In vitro, the drug works against most of the following bacteria strains:

    Gram (+) aerobic bacteria

Staphylococci: Staphylococcus aureus (only including methicillin sensitive strains), Staphylococcus Epidermidis, Staphylococcus Warneri. Note: Cefprozil does not work with staphylococci resistance methicillin.

Streptococci: Streptococcus Pyogenes (Streptococci group A), Streptococcus Agalactiae (Streptococci group B), Streptococcus Pneumonia, Streptococci Group C, D, F and G, Streptoccci Viridans ...

    Gram (-) aerobic bacteria

Moraxella (Branhamella) CatVrhalis, Haemophylus Influenzae (including seminarians β lactamase), Citrobacter Diversus, Escherichia coli.

Klebsiella Pneuomoniae, Neisseria Gonorrhoeae (including penicillinase strains), Proteus Mirabilis, Salmonella spp, Shigella spp, Vibrio spp.

Note: The sensitivity of Citrobacter Diversus and Klebsiella Pneuomoniaec is determined by antibiotics.

    Anaerobic bacteria

    Prevotella Melaninogenicus.

Clostridium difficile, Clostridium perfringens, fusobacterium spp, peptostreptococcus spp, propionibacterium acnes.

Note: Most of the bacteroides strains are resistant to Cefprozil.

    Dynamic pharmacokinetics

After drinking at full or hungry, Pricefil all absorb well. Pricefil's (absolute) bioavailability of drinking is 90%. The pharmacokinetics parameters of the drug are not affected when using the drug at full or simultaneously used with antacids. The average peak concentration in plasma after using Cefprozil for patients at hunger is presented in the table below. About 65% of the dose is excreted unchanged in urine.

Dosage Average peak concentration Cefprozil in plasma (Ug/ml) Excessive urine excretion in 8 hours Mg

    10.5 3,2
0.4 62% After taking the drug, the average concentration in the urine after the dose of 250 mg, 500 mg and 1 g respectively is about 170 µg/ml, 450 µg/ml and 600 µg/ml.

The cohesion with plasma protein is about 36% and does not depend on the concentration of the drug in the range of 2 µg/ml to 20 µg/ml. Half of the average decomposition in plasma in normal people is 1.3 hours.

There is no evidence of the accumulation of proticefil in plasma in people with normal kidney function after taking multiple doses of 1 g every 8 hours in 10 days.

In patients with impaired renal function, half -life decomposed in a prolonged plasma related to the level of kidney dysfunction, in patients completely losing renal function, half -life decomposition in the plasma of PriceFil lasts up to 5.9 hours. While hemorrhage, half -life is shortened to 2.1 hours.

The average area under the curve (AUC) in elderly patients (> 65 years old) is higher in young people about 35 - 60% and the average AUC in women is about 15-20%. In terms of pharmacokinetics of Pricefil, the difference in age and gender does not mean the correlation to the dose adjustment.

In patients with liver function failure, there is no statistically significant difference in pharmacokinetic parameters compared to normal controlled subjects.

After taking a single dose of 7.5 mg/kg or 20 mg/kg for patients to cut tonsils, the drug concentration in tonsils 1 - 4 hours after use is in the range of 0.4 - 4 µg/g. This concentration is at least 25 times higher than the concentration of inhibitors (MIC) for Streptococcus Pyogenes.

    How to use

    oral medication.

Shake the bottle so that the dough does not stick on the bottle. Add water to the line and shake well until the mixture forms a homogeneous. Add water to the line if needed. Shake the bottle carefully before use.

    Dosage

Adults and children over 12 years old

Cefprozil is used to treat bacterial infections caused by sensitive bacterial strains in the following doses:

  • Turmen pharyngitis: 500 mg every 24 hours. Soft: 250 mg every 12 hours or 500 mg every 24 hours or 500 mg every 12 hours
  • Children

Should use the form of drinking powder.

Children from 6 months to 12 years of age have upper respiratory infections such as sore throat, tonsillitis, recommended dose of 20 mg/kg, 1 time/day or 7.5 mg/kg, 2 times/day. The recommended dose when children with otitis media is 15 mg/kg every 12 hours.

Maximum daily dose for children must not exceed the maximum daily dose for adults.

In the treatment of bacterial infections caused by beta hemolytic streptococcus, Cefprozil should be used for at least 10 days.

Efficiency and safety of drugs in children under 6 months of age has not been determined.

    Hepatic failure

No dose adjustment for patients with liver function failure.

    kidney failure

No dose adjustment for patients with creatinine clearance> 30 ml/min.

    In patients with creatinine clearance

Cefprozil is partially eliminated through hemorrhage. Therefore, medication should be used after hemorrhage.

Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist. What to do when overdose? In the case of severe overdose, especially in patients with kidney function damage, hemolytic jas can help eliminate cefprozil from the body.

What to do when you forget 1 dose? However, if the time to relax with the next dose is too short, skip the dose and continue the calendar of the drug. Do not use double doses to compensate for missed dose.

    Side Effects

When using Pricefil, you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).

Unwanted reactions occur while using Cefprozil is similar to other oral cephalosporin reactions.

In controlled clinical trials, Cefprozil is often well tolerated.

In clinical trials, the most unwanted reactions are observed in patients treated with Ceprozil including:

  • Digestive: diarrhea (2.9%), nausea (3.5%), vomiting (1%) and abdominal pain (1%). As well as some penicillin and cephalosporin, the cholestatic jaundice has a report encountered but rarely. These reactions often occur in children more in adults. Signs and symptoms usually occur a few days after the start of treatment and self -loss within a few days after stopping the medication. All these unwanted reactions have recovery. The long prothrombin time is rarely encountered. Rarely encountered, although the correlation of the cause with Cefprozil has not been shown: anaphylactic reaction, angioedema, bowel inflammation, including fake colitis, diverse roses, fever, prolonged allergic reaction (serum), Stevens Johnson syndrome and platelet reduction.

Subclinical changes: Changes on transaminase, alkaline phosphatase, leukocytes, eosin blood cells, Ure and creatinin, similar to other cephalosporins, encountered in several patients in clinical studies. These disorders are usually mild and transient.

Need to notify the doctor unwanted effects when using the drug.

Instructions on how to handle ADR:

Stop using the drug. With minor adverse reactions, usually just stop the drug. In case of severe sensitivity or allergic reactions, supportive treatment (airy keeping and using epinephrin, oxygen breathing, antihistamine, corticoid ...).

  • Warnings

Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.

    contraindicated

Pricefil drugs contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Patients with allergies to cephalosporin or any ingredients of the drug.
  • Be cautious when using

    Warning

Before starting treatment with Pricefil, it is recommended to check the previous allergic reactions with cefprozil, cephalosporin, penicillin and other drugs, because the cross-reaction between β-lactam antibiotics has been shown in about 10% of patients with a history of allergy to penicillin. If an allergic reaction occurs with Pricefil, the medication should occur. With acute or severe hypersensitivity reactions if encountered, emergency measures are required.

Antibiotic treatment can alter normal bacteria strains in the intestine and overgrowth in resistance bacteria, such as Clostridium difficile, which is the main cause of fake colitis, can be from mild to life -threatening.

It should be noted the appearance of diarrhea in patients with antibiotics and considering fake colitis to apply appropriate treatments.

    Caution

Should be cautious when using PriceFil in patients with a history of chronic gastrointestinal disease, especially bowelitis.

The report shows that during drug treatments of cephalosporin groups, the Coombs experiment directly gives false positive results.

Should adjust the appropriate dose in patients with renal failure (see the dose).

    Information for patients

Patients with phenylpyruvicuria: Pricefil, oral fluid containing phenylalanin 28 mg/5 ml (1 teaspoon) The mixed phase.

The ability to drive and operate machinery

It is thought that PriceFil does not affect the ability to drive and operate the patient's machines. However, like all the drugs, before catching anything that needs special caution, the patient should know the tolerance of the drug.

    Pregnancy

Animal reproductive studies show that Pricefil does not harm the fetus. However, the studies are incomplete and are strictly controlled in pregnant women, so they only use drugs during pregnancy when they are really necessary.

There has been no research for the use of PriceFil during birth, so it should only be treated when really necessary.

    Lactation period

less than 0.3% of the dosage for mothers to produce breast milk. While the level of harmful effects for breastfed babies using unidentified pricefil, should only be used while breastfeeding when really necessary.

    Drug interaction

may occur kidney poisoning after simultaneous use of aminoglucoside and cephalosporin.

    Drug interaction

Concentrated with probenecid doubled AUC Pricefil.

    Interaction in subclinical tests

cephalosporin may give a false positive reaction in the test to determine the glucose in the urine with a copper -reducing test, but not for enzyme solution.

There may be false negative reactions in the Ferricyanid test that determines blood glucose. The presence of bloodfil in the blood does not affect the creatinine test in urine or plasma by alkaline picrat.

    Storage

Leave a cool place, avoid light, temperatures below 30⁰C. After mixing into a mixture: Stable 7 days at temperatures ≤ 25oC or 14 days at a temperature of 2 - 8oC.

To be out of reach of children, read the instructions carefully before use.
