Uses

Indications

5ml Novahexin drugs are prescribed in the following cases:

  • Bronchial disorders, especially in acute bronchitis, acute phase of chronic bronchitis.
  • bromhexin is often used as a supplement with antibiotics, when suffered from severe respiratory infections. Due to sialomucin synthetic activation and breaking mucopolysaccharid acid fibers, the drug makes the sputum more loose and less. The drug makes phlegm easier, so the sputum should be exhausted effectively.

When drinking, it usually takes 2-3 days to have a clinical effect, but if injected, after only about 15 minutes.

    pharmacokinetic

    absorption

Bromhexin hydrochloride quickly absorbed through the digestive tract and being initially metabolized in the liver is very strong, so bioavailability when drinking is only about 20 %. Food increases the bioavailability of Bromhexin hydrochloride. Peak concentration in plasma is achieved after drinking, from 1/2 to 1 hour.

    Distribution

Bromhexin hydrochloride is widely distributed into the body's tissues. The drug is very strong (95 - 99%) with plasma proteins. When intravenous injection, the distribution of the drug is 7 liters/kg.

    Metabolism

Bromhexin metabolizes mainly in the liver. There has been a detection of at least 10 metabolites in plasma, in which, ambrosol is a metabolite that is still active. Bromhexin passes through the brain blood barrier and a small amount through the placenta.

    Elimination

Half of the lifetime elimination of the drug in the last phase is 13 - 40 hours depending on the individual. About 85 - 90% of the dose is eliminated in the urine, mainly in the form of metabolites, in the form of sulfo or glucuro and a small amount excreted. Bromhexin is eliminated very little through feces, only less than 4%.

  • Hypersensitivity to bromhexin or with a certain ingredient in the drug.
  • Be cautious when using

while using bromhexin should avoid coordination with cough medicine because there is the risk of sputum stagnation in the respiratory tract.

Bromhexin - Due to the effect of eliminating mucus, it can cause damage to the stomach lining, so when used for patients with a history of stomach ulcer must be very cautious.

Be careful when used for asthma patients, because bromhexin can cause bronchospasm in some sensitive people.

Bromhexin clearance and metabolic substances can be reduced in patients with severe liver or kidney failure, so it is necessary to be cautious and monitor.

Be careful when using bromhexin for the elderly or weakness, too weak is unable to sput up effectively, thus increasing phlegm.

The ability to drive and operate machinery

    Pregnancy

has not studied bromhexin's biochemical effects in experimental animals. There is not enough research on people, so it is not recommended to use bromhexin for pregnant people.

    Breastfeeding period

It is not known whether bromhexin will excrete in breast milk. Therefore, it is not recommended to use bromhexin for breastfeeding women. If needed, it is best not to breastfeed.

    Drug interaction

do not coordinate with drugs to reduce discharge (reducing bronchial secretion) such as Atropin -style drugs (or anticholinergic) because of the effect of bromhexin.

Do not coordinate with anti -cough drugs.

Use bromhexin combination with antibiotics (amoxicillin, cefuroxim, erythromycin, Doxycyclin) that increases antibiotic concentration into lung and bronchial tissue. Thus bromhexin may act as a supplement in the treatment of respiratory infections, increasing the effects of antibiotics.

    Storage

Store drugs in dry, temperatures not exceeding 300C, avoid light.
