Uses

Indications

Orgyl Kusum is indicated in the case of treatment of bacterial and monopolic infections such as:

Bacterial vaginosis (nonspecific vaginitis)

Infection with urinary trichomonas both men and women.

Infection of the intestinal amoeba, liver amoeba.

Giardia infection.

Suspected bacterial infections due to anaerobic bacteria such as blood infections. Meningitis. Peritonitis. Wound infection after surgery. Bacterial infection after birth. Infection with miscarriage. Endometritis.

Prevention of post -surgical infections due to anaerobic bacteria, especially infections related to colon and gynecological surgery.

Pharmacokological

Ornidazole is a derivative 5 - nitro - imidazole, has a broad spectrum on protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. After passive absorption into the bacterial cell membrane, the group 5 - nitro of the drug is reduced into toxic mediators to the cell. These substances bind to the twisted structure of the DNA molecule that breaks these fibers and eventually causes dead cells.

The drug works with primary animals such as E. Histolytica, T. Vaginalis, Giardia Lamblia and mandatory anaerobic bacteria such as peptostreptococus, Clostridium, B. Fragilis, Prevolella, Porphyronomas, Fusobacterium.

pharmacokinetic

absorption

Ornidazole is quickly absorbed after drinking. The average absorption is about 90%. Peak concentration in plasma is achieved within 3 hours.

Distribution

The ratio of the plasma protein of Ornidazole is about 13%. Ornidazole penetrates well into cerebrospinal fluid, tissues and body fluids. The concentration achieved in plasma is between 6 - 36mg/l, which is considered to be optimal for different treatment indications. In healthy people, the accumulation of the drug is about 1.5 - 2.5 after oral repeated dose of 500 mg or 1000 mg every 12 hours.

Metabolism

Ornidazole metabolizes the liver into 2-hydroxymethyl and A-2-Hydroxylylylyl metabolites. The main metabolites have little effects on Trichomonas vaginalis and anaerobic bacteria compared to the unprocessed drug.

Elimination

The disposal time of the drug is about 13 hours. 85% of the single dose is eliminated within 5 days, mostly in the form of metabolism. 4% of the dose is eliminated in urine in a constant form.

Hepatic failure

In cirrhosis patients, the semi -waste time lasts longer (22 hours) and lower clearance coefficient (35 ml/min) than healthy people (14 hours and 51 ml/minute). Therefore, the dose distance should be doubled in patients with liver failure.

kidney failure

Ornidazole's

pharmacokinetic parameters are constant in patients with renal failure, so do not need to adjust the dose. Ornidazole may be excluded from the body by a separation. If daily dose 2 g, use an additional dose of 500 mg before the separation. If daily dose is 1g, add a dose of 250 mg.

Children and babies

Ornidazole pharmacokinetics parameters in children and infants are similar to adults.

Before taking Orgyl 500mg Kusum treatment for infections, monopolic microorganisms (1 blister x 10 tablets)

How to use

The drug is taken after meals. In all indications, it is advisable to treat both a partner with the same dose to prevent re -infection.

Dosage

amoeba infection

Adults:

500 mg x 2 times/day, for 5 - 10 days.

Children:

25 mg/kg body weight, 1 time/day, for 5-10 days.

dysentery

Adults:

1.5g x 1 time/day for 3 days.

For people> 60 kg, take 1g x 2 times/day for 3 days

Children:

40 mg/kg body weight x 1 time/day, in 3 days

Giardia infection

Adults:

1 - 1.5g x 1 time/day, for 1-2 days

Children:

30 - 40 mg/kg body weight x 1 time/day, in 1-2 days

Trichomonas infection

1.5g x 1 time or 500 mg x 2 times/day, in 5 days

vaginal infections

3 tablets 500 mg for 1 single dose or 1 tablet 500 mg x 1 time/day for 5-7 days.

When an exact dose cannot be achieved (mg/kg) with the types of tablets available for children and necessarily need to treat orgyl, the decision should be decided to use the estimated doses in each case.

Preventive infections caused by anaerobic bacteria

Take 1 - 2 capsules within 3-5 days before surgery

Patients with severe liver failure

Dosage distance doubled in patients with liver failure

Patients with renal failure

Because Ornidazole is excluded when the patient is on dialysis, before this therapy is performed, it is necessary to take an additional dose of 500 mg of ornidazole while taking daily doses of 2G or the additional doses of 250 mg while taking daily dose 1g

Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist.

What to do when overdose? There is no specific antidote. Diazepam can be used if spasms.

In an emergency, call the 115 emergency center immediately or go to the nearest local health station.

What to do when you forget a dose? However, if close to the next dose, skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the time as planned. Note that it should not be used double the prescribed dose.
