  • Mild to medium pain including headache, migraine, nerve pain, sore throat, menstrual pain, pain.

    Mechanism of action

    Pain relief

Paracetamol pain relief mechanism has not been fully determined.

Paracetamol can operate mainly by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system (CNS) and at a lower level, through peripheral effects by preventing painful impulses.

Peripheral effects may also be due to prostaglandin synthesis or synthetic inhibition or the activity of other substances that cause receptor sensitivity to mechanical or chemical stimulation

    A reduction of fever

Paracetamol has an antipyretic effect by focusing on the hypothalamic air conditioning center to create peripheral vasodilation leading to increased blood flow through the skin, sweating and cooling.

The central effects are probably related to the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the hypothalamus.

    Dynamic pharmacokinetics

Paracetamol is easily absorbed from the digestive tract with peak concentration in plasma reaching about 30 minutes to 2 hours after drinking. Paracetamol is metabolized in the liver and excreted in urine mainly in the form of glucuronide and sulfate.

less than 5% is excreted in a constant form. The selling time varies from 1 to 4 hours. Links to negligible plasma proteins at conventional therapeutic concentrations but increases when increasing concentration.

The secondary hydroxylation metabolic is usually produced in very small amounts by the oxidase of the mixed function in the liver, and is often detoxified by concluding with the liver glutathione that can be accumulated after overdose of paracetamol and liver damage.
