Indications

Piracetam 400mg is indicated in the following cases:

  • In the elderly: memory impairment, dizziness, poor concentration, or lack of alertness, mood changes, behavioral disorders, poor attention to yourself, dementia due to high cerebral infarction.
  • Used after trauma or surgery. Learning

piracetam (Rnail derivative of Amino-butyric-gaba acid) has a mental effect (improving the metabolism of neuron cells).

Piracetam directly works on the brain to increase the activity of the brain area involved in the mechanism of awareness, learning, memory, alertness and consciousness in normal people and people with impaired function, improving learning and memory ability.

Piracetam acts on some neurotransmitters, increasing the release of acetylcholin, dopamine. The drug can change neurotransmitter and contribute to improving the metabolic environment so that neurons work well, so the drug improve learning ability and memory -related activities.

Piracetam works to protect anti -oxygen cortex:

On experiments, Piracetam enhances brain tolerance to hypoxia, against metabolic disorders due to ischemia.

Piracetam increases the exploitation and consumption of glucose independently with the source of oxygen, creating favorable conditions for pentose metabolism and maintaining energy synthesis in the brain.

Piracetam increases the recovery rate after damage due to lack of oxygen by rapidly increasing the rotation of inorganic phosphate and reducing the accumulation of glucose and lactic acid.

Piracetam increases the amount of ATP in the brain due to increased ADP conversion to ATP under normal conditions as well as without oxygen.

Piracetam reduces the ability to converge platelet and in case of abnormal erythrocytes, the drug can cause red blood cells to restore deformation and ability to pass through capillaries. The drug has anti -vibration effect.

    pharmacokinetics

Piracetam used by oral is absorbed quickly and almost completely gastrointestinal tract. Bioions reach nearly 100%.

Peak of plasma peaks (40 - 60μg/ml) appears 30 minutes after taking a dose of 2g.

The peak concentration in the cerebrospinal fluid is achieved after taking the drug 2 - 8 hours. Absorption of drugs does not change when long -term treatment. The distribution volume is about 0.6L/kg.

Piracetam absorbed into all tissues and may be through blood -brain barriers, placenta and even membranes used in kidney absorption.

High concentrations in the cerebral cortex, frontal lobe, top lobe and occipital lobe, cerebellum and base core.

Half lifetime elimination in plasma is 4-5 hours. Half life eliminated in cerebrospinal fluid about 6 - 8 hours.

Piracetam is not attached to plasma proteins and is excreted through the kidneys in the form of intact. Piracetam clearance coefficient of kidneys in normal people is 80ml/min.

30 hours after drinking, more than 95% of the drug is discharged in urine.

If there is a kidney failure, half a lifetime elimination increases: In patients with complete and non -recovery, half -life is 48-50 hours.
