Because the H+/K+ ATPASE enzyme system is considered the acid pump (proton) of the gastric mucosa, Pantoprazol is called proton pump inhibitors.
Pantoprazol inhibits the basic acid secretion and is stimulated by any stimulating agent.
Pantoprazol can prevent Helicobacter pylori in people with stomach ulcer - duodenum infected with this bacterium. If combined with one or more anti -bacterial drugs (such as amoxicillin, clarithromycin), pantoprazol can be effective in exporing gastritis caused by H. pylori.

Be careful when using pantoprazol in people with liver disease (acute, chronic or history). The serum concentration of the drug may increase slightly and mitigate the excretion; But no dose adjustment.

However, clinical clinicals have not seen significant interaction between pantoprazol and drugs: carbamazepin, caffeine, diazepam, diclofenac, digoxin, ethanol, glibenclamid, metoprolol, nifedipine, phenytoin, theophyline, warfarin and oral contraceptives used as oral.
