Ca-C 1000 Sandoz medicine is indicated in the following cases:
Lack of calcium or vitamin C due to poor nutrition or increase in calcium and vitamin C in:
Support in the treatment of colds and flu
Providing vitamin C and calcium element with sufficient content to meet the daily needs at stages with increased demand
Pharmacokology
Calcium is an essential mineral essential for maintaining an electrolyte balance in the body and the normal activity of many regulatory mechanisms. Calcium deficiency is associated with neuromuscular disorders and bone loss.
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) plays an important role in biological oxidation, regression processes and in cell respiration. It is also essential for collagen formation and tissue healing.
High doses of vitamin C are shown to be effective in preventing and treating upper respiratory tract infections. The deficiency of vitamin C and calcium may be the result of incomplete diet or may occur under different conditions combined with increasing demand (see the designation).
Sandoz 1000 Sandoz effervescent tablets provide sufficient amounts of vitamin C and calcium ions to meet daily needs at times when the demand increases.
pharmacokinetics
calcium
CA-C 1000 Sandoz contains two types of salts of calcium, calcium lactat gluconate and calcium carbonate, which are easy to soluble in water, forming an easy-to-use calcium ion.
Absorption: 25-50% of the amount of calcium used is absorbed, mainly at the tip of the small intestine and is transferred to the calcium exchange area.
Distribution and metabolism: The mineral composition of bones and teeth contains 99% of calcium in the body, the remaining 1% exists in internal and extracellular fluids. About 50% of blood calcium exists in the form of physiological activity, with nearly 5% in a complex form with citrate, phosphate and other anions. The remaining 45% of serum calcium is linked to protein, mainly albumin.
Elimination: Calcium is eliminated through urine, feces and sweat. The excretion of calcium through the urine depends on the process of filtering the glomerular and reabsorption in the renal tubules.
acid ascorbic (vitamin C)
Vitamin C is easily absorbed after taken, widely distributed into tissue fluids in the body and excreted through urine.
Before taking Sandoz 1000 Sandoz effervescent tablets supplement vitamin C, calcium (10 tablets)
How to use
Take oral use.
Dissolve the bubbles of the 1000 Sandoz CA-C in a cup of water (about 200 ml) and drink immediately, can be used or not with the same food.
DosageAdults and children 7 years and older: 1 tablet/day.
Children 3 - 7 years old: 1/2 tablets/day.
Children: Use as prescribed by the doctor.
Note: The above dose is for reference only. Specific dosage depends on the condition and level of progression of the disease. For a suitable dose, you need to consult a doctor or medical specialist. What to do when overdose?
Overdose
Overdose leads to hypercalcemia and hypercalcemia. Symptoms of hypercalcemia may include: vomiting, nausea, thirst, severe thirst, urination, dehydration and constipation. Chronic overdose leads to hypercalcemia that can cause blood vessels and organs.
The poisoning threshold of calcium is an additional dose exceeding 2000 mg/day, used for months.
High doses of vitamin C can cause osmotic diarrhea, accompanied by related digestive symptoms.
Overdose of vitamin C can promote excess iron in patients with iron storage (Red blood cells containing iron in the bone marrow, tissue iron cell infection) and can cause blood resorting in congenital red blood cell patients with G6PD deficiency.
Overdose treatment
In case of poisoning, it is necessary to immediately stop treatment and should adjust the shortage of shortage. When an overdose is required to be treated, water rehydration should be rehydrated, including intravenous salt vein if needed. The diuretics (such as Furosemid) can be used to increase calcium elimination and prevent the volume of circulatory volume, but should avoid using thiazid diuretics. In patients with renal impairment, water rehydration is ineffective and should be clinical. In the case of prolonged hypercalcemia, factors contribute to excluding, such as excess vitamin A or D, primary hyperthyroidism, malignant tumor, kidney failure or immobility.
What to do when you forget a dose? However, if close to the next dose, skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the time as planned. Note that it should not be used double the prescribed dose.
Side Effects
When using Ca-C 1000 Sandoz medicine, you may experience unwanted effects (ADR).
Uncommon, 1/1000 Rare, 1/1000 Not determined frequency Instructions on how to handle ADR Notify the doctor/pharmacist the unwanted effects when using the drug.
Warnings
Before using the drug you need to read the instructions carefully and refer to the information below.
Contraindicated
Ca-C 1000 Sandoz medicine is contraindicated in the following cases:
Be cautious when using
for patients with mild calcium hypercalcium (exceeding 300 mg/24 hours or 7.5 mmol/24 hours) or a history of ureter, which should be monitored in urine. Dosage should be reduced or stopped if necessary. The increase in the amount of fluid supply to the body is recommended in patients easily forming stones in the urinary tract.
For patients with renal impairment, calcium salts are needed under medical monitoring along with monitoring of calcium and serum phosphate.
When high doses and especially simultaneously used with vitamin D, there is a risk of hypercalcemia and then kidney failure. In these patients should monitor blood calcium and renal function.
Dosage of vitamin C in patients with severe renal impairment should not exceed 50 - 100 mg/day due to the risk of hypercalcemia and oxalate stones in the kidneys.
Should be cautious when using calcium + vitamin C for patients with oxalate excretion through urine. There have been medical reports on the ability to increase aluminum absorption with citrate salts. It should be noted when using the bubbling tablet of 1000 Sandoz (containing citric acid) for patients with severe renal impairment, especially in patients who are using aluminum-containing preparations.
Should hold Ca-C 1000 Sandoz medicine out of the reach of children.
Warning related to excipients
Foam tablet CA-C 1000 Sandoz contains:
Information for patients with diabetes
The ability to drive and operate machinery
CA-C 1000 Sandoz does not affect the ability to drive and operate machinery.
Pregnancy
CA-C 1000 Sandoz can be used during pregnancy, in case of calcium deficiency. However, when starting to supplement during the last 3 months of pregnancy, no more than 1500 mg of calcium/day.
In pregnant women, the overdose of calcium because prolonged hypercalcemia is associated with side effects on the development of the fetus.
High doses of vitamin C are not recommended in pregnant women because they may have symptoms of vitamin C deficiency in infants and young children.
Breastfeeding period
Ca-C 1000 Sandoz can be used for nursing women. Vitamin C and calcium excreted into breast milk.
Interactive drug
thiazid diuretics reduce calcium excretion through urine. Serum calcium concentration should be controlled regularly when used with thiazid diuretics due to increased risk of hypercalcemia.
Corticosteroids -acting drugs reduce calcium absorption. When used simultaneously, the CA-C 1000 Sandoz dose may be increased.
Tetracyclin preparations used at the same time with calcium -containing preparations can reduce absorption. Therefore, tetracycline preparations should be used at least 2 hours or after 4-6 hours after using CA -C 1000 Sandoz.
Characteristics of cardiac glycosides may increase with hypercalcemia due to treatment with calcium. Patients need to be monitored with electrocardiograms and serum calcium.
Oral or sodium fluorid bisrioride used with calcium -containing preparations can reduce the absorption in the stomach - intestines of bisphosphonate or sodium fluorid. Therefore, oral bisphosphonate should be used at least 3 hours in advance when using CA-C 1000 Sandoz. Used with vitamin D and derivatives that increase calcium absorption.
Oxalic acid (found in spinach, great royal tree) and phytic acid (in cereal) can inhibit calcium absorption due to the formation of insoluble compounds with calcium ions. Patients should not use calcium preparations within 2 hours after eating foods that contain oxalic acid and phytic acid.
Simultaneous use of vitamin C with aluminum -containing antacids can increase aluminum absorption. Vitamin C should not be used simultaneously with antacids containing aluminum.
Vitamin C increases the chelate complex of iron. Because CA-C 1000 Sandoz contains high doses of vitamin C (> 200 mg), should not be used with Deferoxamine.
At daily dose exceeds 1 g, vitamin C may falsify blood and urine test results (for example, glucose quantification) due to oxidation - reduction reaction.
